Those who walked a long way together but couldn’t stay together,
Those who gave their all but still couldn’t win the heart of their beloved,
Those who tried countless times to prove themselves right, yet remained the villain in society’s eyes,
Those who, after endless waiting, were left with nothing but a heart full of sighs,
Those who wished for a little happiness but received only pain and suffering,
Those who desperately tried to hold on to their dearest relationships, only to watch everything fall apart—
An odd sense of indifference slowly crept into them.
They no longer got easily attached to anything,
They no longer wished for much, even for themselves.
The old enthusiasm faded away,
Joy disappeared,
And even sorrow lost its sting.
Nothing really mattered to them anymore.
It was as if someone had numbed them from within.
In the end,
If you come—stay.
If you leave—go.
If you don’t return—so be it.
They no longer cared.
