Through developing, producing, and distributing a film, special needs and mainstream students can work together, developing communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills - among many others. Filmmaking also nurtures students' skills in leadership, communication, and project management, teaching students to respect others with different abilities.
In line with this, the Louisian students enrolled in; Societal Films (Codes 146, 147, & 148), Life and Works of Rizal (Codes 090 & 094), and Art Appreciation (Code 012 & 013) have come up with a Service Learning Program titled "Project Pelikula" that includes a creative short film showcasing relevant issues related to their field/program.
This Service Learning Program aims to showcase the skills and talents of students in Film Production.
The following are the objectives of the said SLP:
• To encourage high school students in choosing the involved programs of this event;
• To promote a contextual understanding of the program;
• To hone students' creativity and artistic appreciation by producing audio-visual art while portraying the students' significance.
The said event will be showcased to the public on July 20, 2022, from 5:00-7:30 PM. The event will take place at the Cagayan Museum and Historical Research Center (in front of Rizal's Park).
Note: The public is advised to strictly observe Health protocols to avoid spreading the virus. Please bring your masks, alcohol, and umbrella.
