Part 1: Increasing muscle volume
Do you feel like you’re not progressing even though you’re eating the right foods and training hard?
Let me help you!
✨Make sure you’re eating enough! You might be more active then what you realise, leading to your body burning more calories. If you’re not gaining weight, try increasing your calories!
✨Eat your protein! As you gain weight, you need to increase your protein intake. If the number of reps aren’t going up, try weighing yourself and see how much you should be consuming per day!
✨Maybe you’re getting too familiar with your log book! Just because you squatted 8 reps last week doesn’t mean you have to squat 9 this week. If you can do 10, do 10! Even if that means your reps end up being 10,10,9 and they’re not all the same number
✨Make sure you’re training in the right rep range! For muscular volume I tend to do anywhere between 8-15 reps. Once I hit 15, I increase the weight and go back to 8. I use rep calculator to make sure that when I increase the weight, I am increasing it the right amount!
✨Be careful of your rest times! For hypertrophy training I tend to do a 1-1:30 rest unless I’m doing a big compound movement. (Squats, Deadlifts, Bench Press)
