የስኬት አርአያ የሆነው ተማሪ ሃይሌ አዳነ በአሶሳ ዩኒቨርሲቲ በመገኘት ለተማሪዎች ልምዱን አካፈለ **********//**********

(አሶሳ ዩኒቨርሲቲ፤ ነሀሴ 12/2018 ዓ/ም) የ4.1 ሚሊዮን ዶላር የአሜሪካ ስኮላርሺፕ አሸናፊ የሆነው ተማሪ ሃይሌ አዳነ በአሶሳ ዩኒቨርሲቲ በመገኘት፤ ለአሶሳ ከተማ ተማሪዎች እና በዩኒቨርሲቲው ስቴም (STEM) ማዕከል በመማር ላይ ለሚገኙ ተማሪዎች አበረታች የስኬት ልምዱን አካፍሏል።

በመርሃ-ግብሩ የዩኒቨርሲቲው የማህበረሰብ ጉድኝት ዳይሬክተር ዶ/ር ተፈራ ተሾመ እንደገለጹት፤ ተማሪዎች ጊዜያቸውን በአግባቡ በመጠቀም እና እንደ ተማሪ ሃይሌ በትጋት በመስራት የያዙትን ዓላማ ማሳካት እንዳለባቸው አሳስበዉ፣ ዩኒቨርሲቲውም ተማሪዎች ፈጠራቸውን አዳብረው አቅማቸውን እንዲያሳድጉ ሁልጊዜም ከጎናቸው መሆኑን አረጋግጠዋል።

ተማሪ ሃይሌ በአሶሳ አጠቃላይ 2ኛ ደረጃ ት/ቤት እና በአሶሳ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ስቴም ማዕከል እውቀቱንና ክህሎቱን በማጎልበት ለዚህ ዓለም አቀፍ ስኬት መብቃቱንም አንስተዋል።

የአሶሳ ከተማ አስተዳደር ትምህርት መምሪያ ሃላፊ ወ/ሮ ገጃም አያና በበኩላቸው፣ ተማሪዎች የሃይሌን ፈለግ በመከተል አቅማቸውን ማሳደግ እና ቴክኖሎጂን ለተሳካ ዓላማ ማዋል እንደሚገባቸው አሳስበዋል።

በመድረኩም ተማሪ ሃይሌ አዳነ፡

• ውጤታማ የአጠናን ዘዴዎችና የፈተና ዝግጅት፣
• ተራማጅ አስተሳሰብና የይቻላል እምነት፣

Candidates presented their Strategic Plan for three Academic Positions


(Assosa University, August 18, 2026) Candidates vying for three academic positions namely as 'Laboratory & Workshop Officer, Center for Employment & Entrepreneurship Director, and Teachers’ Development Continuous Professional Improvement Officer' presented their strategic plans before the University’s leadership.

The event was held in the presence of Assosa University President Dr. Yared Mulu, Vice Presidents, Directors and College Deans.


During the session, candidates presented their strategic plan for the positions they competed effectively. A lively question-and-answer segment followed the presentation, allowing evaluators to probe deeper into each candidate’s proposals and motivations.

The strategic plan presentation for the positions account for 20% of the overall assessment, focusing on vision, leadership, motivation, and the national policy knowledge, and the remaining 80% is based on candidates’ academic rank, professional experience and contributions.

Curriculum Revision Internal Validation Workshop at Assosa University

(August 17, 2026 – Assosa University) Assosa University has launched an Internal Validation Workshop on curriculum revision, engaging four colleges and ten departments.
The workshop was formally opened by the Vice President for Academic Affairs delegate, Dr. Wondim Mekuriya, who emphasized the importance of critically evaluating the curricula.

He urged participants to provide professional insights, assess whether course objectives are aligned with institutional goals, and ensure their relevance to current academic and professional standards.

‎Discussion to strengthening International Collaboration: Assosa University and Masstricht University

‎( Augest 14,2026 Assosa University)Assosa University President, Dr. Yared Mulu, held a constructive discussion with Dr. Huub L.M. Mudde, Deputy Director of the Expert Center on Emerging Economies at Masstricht University, Netherlands. Earlier in the day, Dr. Huub had conducted a training session for Assosa University staff, which set the stage for deeper dialogue on long-term collaboration.

‎Dr. Yared expressed his appreciation for Dr. Huub’s willingness to volunteer his expertise and partner with Assosa University. He emphasized the university’s unique position as the only higher education institution in the Benishangul-Gumuz Region, strategically located at the border of Sudan and recognized as the founding site of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). He highlighted the region’s abundant mining resources and stressed the importance of forging international partnerships to address pressing community challenges and foster sustainable development.

‎The President further explained that Assosa University is preparing a Stakeholder Engagement Strategy Roadmap to systematically identify and align the interests of all stakeholders. Upon completion, the university seeks support in delivering short-term training programs focused on entrepreneurship and mining safety—critical areas for regional growth and risk management.

‎Dr. Huub, in turn, expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating with Assosa University. He underscored the importance of trust and communication as the foundation of successful partnerships.
‎He assured Dr. Yared that Maastricht University would work alongside Assosa University to strengthen stakeholder engagement within a legal and institutional framework, tailored to the opportunities and realities of the region.

‎Research Capacity Building Training Workshop at Assosa University

‎On August 14, 2026, Assosa University hosted a Capacity Building Training Workshop titled “From Research Opportunity Identification till Project Management.”
‎The program was officially opened by Dr. Oumer Sheriff, Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer. In his welcoming remarks, Dr. Oumer warmly greeted the participants and extended a special welcome to the trainer, Dr. Huub L.M.M. Mudde, Deputy Director at the Expert Centre on Emerging Economies, Masstricht University, Netherlands.

‎ Dr. Oumer welcomed the trainer to Assosa, a city rich in diversity, and highlighted the vast resources of the Benishangul Gumuz Region. He further emphasized the importance of international collaboration in advancing research capacity and shared updates on the university’s ongoing initiatives and global partnerships.He also mentioned researches and projects the University carrying out callaburatively with international partners.

He stressed that universities play a transformative role in improving society and emphasized the centrality of research to academic advancement. Drawing on his extensive experience, Dr. Huub provided practical guidance on preparing strong research proposals and fostering international cooperation.

‎The workshop was attended by directors, department heads, deans, and academic staff, ensuring broad institutional engagement. The training sessions built practical competencies in research opportunity identification and proposal development.

Vital Strategies Impact HDSS Project Donates IT Equipment Worth ETB 1.49 Million to Strengthen Bambasi HDSS

(Assosa University, August 13, 2026) Assosa University has received essential Information Technology (IT) equipment valued ETB 1,491,375 from Vital Strategies Impact HDSS project, reinforcing the operational and digital capacity of the Bambasi Health and Demographic Surveillance System (HDSS) Coordination Research Center.

The donated equipment includes tablet, printers, external hard drives, power banks, and uninterruptible power supply (UPS). These resources are expected to significantly enhance data collection, storage, management and overall operational activities of the project.

The equipment was officially handed over to the project coordination center by Assosa University president Dr. Yared Mulu in the presence of Research and Technology Transfer Vice president Dr. Oumer Sheriff and Dean of the college of Health Sciences.

Assosa University highly values the continued partnership and support of Vital Strategies in advancing research and evidence based health programs. The contribution demonstrates the organization's commitment to strengthening HDSS and supporting research institutions.

የግንዛቤ መፍጠሪያዉን መድረክ የከፈቱት የምርምርና ቴክኖሎጂ ሽግግር ም/ፕሬዚዳንት ልዩ ረዳት ዶ/ር ቢኒያም ጸዳለ በጤና ሳይንስ ኮሌጅ ስር ያለዉ የስነ ህዝብ ቅኝት ምርምር ማእከል የሚያጠናዉ መረጃ ታማኝና ግልጽ የሆነና የህብረተሰቡን ችግር የሚፈታ እንዲሆን ይበልጥ የሚያበረታታ መድረክ በመሆኑና ኮሌጁን ዉጤታማ የሚያደርግ ስለሆነ ተጠናክሮ መቀጠል ይኖርበታል ብለዋል፡፡

በዉይይት መድረኩም የስነ-ህዝብ ቅኝት ምርምር ማእከል ፕሮጀክት አስተባባሪ መ/ር ዲሪባ ኢታና ማእከሉ የሚሰራቸዉ ጥናቶች ተአማኒነታቸዉ የተረጋገጡ መረጃዎች በመሆናቸዉ ተመራሪዎችም በሚሰሯቸዉ ምርምሮች መጠቀም የሚችሉ እንዲሆንና ስለ አጠቃቀሙም ገለጻና ማብራሪያ ሰጥቷል፡፡

ተመራማሪዎችም በጤናዉ ዘርፍ ለሚሰሩ ጥናቶች ግበኣት የሚሆኑ መረጃዎች በመሆናቸዉና ዉጤታማ የማህበረሰብ አገልግሎት ለመስጠት የሚያስችሉ መረጃዎች በመሆናቸዉ ግንዘቤዉ መፈጠሩ የሚበረታታ እንደሆነ ገልጸዋል፡፡

የዩኒቨርሲቲዉ የስነ- ህዝብ ቅኝት ምርምር ማእከል(Bambasi Health Demographic Surveillance System) በባምባሲ ወረዳ በ26 ቀበሌዎች ላይ በዋነኛነት በልደት፣በሞት እና በፍልሰት ላይ የተመሰረቱ መረጃዎችን በማጥናት ለጤና ፖሊስ አዉጭዎች ግበኣት እንዲሆኑ በዩኒቨርሲቲዉ ጤና ሳይንስ ኮሌጅ መምህራን የሚካሄድ በፕሮጀክት የተደገፈ የጥናት ማእከል ነዉ፡፡
