d in which their chosen foreign language is spoken and graduate with a nuanced understanding of the political, economic and cultural complexities of our contemporary world. The Altman Program prepares students to become leaders in today’s increasingly interconnected world. Such leaders must be adaptable to changing professional and cultural circumstances and need flexible broad-based skill-sets to adjust their professional goals to changing opportunities and markets. Above all, they also need to communicate effectively with citizens of their own and other cultures. The challenging dual-degree curriculum provides students with a broad liberal arts perspective and a practical business education that will enable them to be successful in a variety of career paths, whether in finance, politics, public policy, consulting, law, marketing, medicine, diplomacy, non-profit management, public health and/or international development. The Altman Program provides students with an Altman-specific experience each semester, a common study abroad trip between freshman and sophomore years, and financial support for junior year abroad and internships. The program was established thanks to the generosity of Tulane alumni Jeffrey Altman and welcomes its inaugural class in Fall 2012.

Recap of the first 2 weeks in Vietnam for Cohort 2029!

We settled into our home base in Hanoi and visited the Temple of Literature and the Hỏa Lò Prison. During the week, we have been working hard in our classes and also attending family dinners in the evenings. Last weekend, we traveled to the village of Mai Chau where we experienced a new culture and completed service work.

And our last grad is Jacqueline Soals🎓
My time at Tulane is coming to end with having successfully completed 2 degrees in Economics B.S. and a Finance B.S.M. with a minor in Mandarin Chinese. Junior year abroad brought me to National Taiwan University through Freeman Abroad in the fall, and to National Taiwan Normal University through CIEE in the spring. During my time at Tulane I completed both the Burkenroad Reports and the Darwin Fenner Student Managed Fund, served as treasurer for the Fencing Club, and found community in archery, PokerPower, and MMA. One of the most meaningful things I did here had nothing to do with finance: I taught English to ESL mothers who wanted to better communicate with their children — and it changed the way I think about what leadership really means. After graduation, I’m pursuing FP&A roles in Silicon Valley, bringing the analytical fluency of a double major and the cross-cultural perspective I built across two continents.

David Dubovy🎓
Hello! My name is David Dubovy, and I am from Miami, Florida. I am graduating from Tulane University with degrees in Marketing and International Relations, with a minor in Spanish. My Altman target language is Spanish, and during my junior year abroad I spent the fall semester studying business at Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid and the spring semester in Seville, taking all of my classes, group projects, and exams entirely in Spanish for the full year.

At Tulane, I served as President of Tulane Toastmasters, where I rebuilt the club and quadrupled membership. I was also the Professional Chair of Alpha Epsilon Pi, Secretary of Club Wrestling, and involved in PAD. Academically, I completed independent research on U.S., Israeli, and Palestinian policy priorities through the Stacy Mandel Palagye Program for Middle East Peace and made the Dean’s List multiple semesters.

My year abroad was the most impactful part of my experience. Being fully immersed academically and socially in Spanish forced me to communicate clearly, think quickly, and adapt in real time. It made the “global” side of the program feel real.

After graduation, I will be working on Capitol Hill before attending law school.

If I had one piece of advice, it would be to take something from every experience and not leave anything on the table. You get out of this program and life itself what you put into it, so take advantage of it and do not leave with regrets.

Dominga Guerra🎓
I am graduating with degrees in Communications and Marketing, along with an additional major in Italian. With Italian as my Altman target language, I studied abroad during my junior year in Italy, spending the fall at the University of Bologna and the spring at Bocconi University in Milan. During my time at Tulane, I participated in several on-campus activities, including performing as a flutist in the Tulane Orchestra, serving as Sponsorship Manager for Tulane’s music and food festival, Crawfest, and working as a language peer tutor for the Academic Learning and Teaching Center. I also worked as a Communications Intern for NTC Career Services and as a research assistant for Dr. McCammon in the Communications Department. As a result of my work, I earned a spot on the Dean’s List, received the Judith Ward-Steinman Campbell Study Abroad Award, and was named a recipient of the 2026 NTC Dean’s Service Award. I also gained recognition from the Department of French and Italian for completing my Italian major alongside other contributions. After graduation, I will return to Brooklyn, New York, where I hope to continue my work in marketing and public relations within the entertainment industry.

Mateo Proano🎓
I am graduating with a BS in Finance and a BA in International Development and Political Science, with a minor in Entrepreneurship. My Altman Program target languages are Spanish and Portuguese, and during my junior year abroad, I spent the fall semester in São Paulo, Brazil, and the spring semester in Lisbon, Portugal. During my time at Tulane, I have been a Changemaker Fellow with the Taylor Center for Social Entrepreneurship and a LEAP Fellow with the Lepage Center for Entrepreneurship. Outside of campus, I scouted deals for multiple venture funds, worked for a biotech venture studio in São Paulo, and spent last summer as a Firmwide AI Governance Analyst at Morgan Stanley. This past year, I have been working alongside Mauricio Rodas, former Mayor of Quito, on climate finance and urban policy. During my time at Tulane, I received the PIMCO Future Leaders Award and the Eamon R. Kelly Presidential Scholarship. After graduation, I am headed to South Africa with a close friends — I am currently a finalist for the Stanford Long-Term Investing Fellowship, and if not, I will continue my work on infrastructure finance in the Global South. The Altman Program took a chance on me and I ran with the opportunity. My life will always be different because of it, and I am forever grateful for the perspective and skills the program gave me.

Morgan Janell Veal 🎓
I am a graduating senior at Tulane University majoring in Finance and International Relations, with a target language of Spanish through the Altman Program. As part of my global studies, I spent my junior year abroad studying in Mexico City and Madrid, where I directly enrolled at ITAM and ICADE. These experiences challenged me academically while deepening my cultural fluency and global perspective.

During my time at Tulane, I have been actively involved in the Alliance of Black Business Students, TUA, and Alpha Kappa Psi. I am also honored to be a recipient of the Tulane Legislative Scholars Award. Professionally, I have gained experience as a research assistant in Tulane’s Marketing Department, worked with Tulane Pre-College programs, and interned in the U.S. House of Representative, each role strengthening my interests in business, policy, and community impact.

The Altman Program has been a defining part of my college experience, especially the opportunity to study abroad both my freshman and junior year. These experiences not only shaped my academic path but also gave me the confidence to navigate international environments and think more critically about global issues.

I am incredibly grateful for the friendships, mentorship, and opportunities I’ve gained through this program. While I will deeply miss my peers, I am excited to see all that they accomplish, and am excited for this next chapter in my life.

Carmella Guglielmi 🎓
I am graduating with a BSM in Finance and a BA in International Relations and Italian. My target language is Italian, so I had the privilege of spending the fall semester in Bologna at the Università di Bologna pursuing my liberal arts degree, and the spring semester in Milan at Università Bocconi focusing on my business studies.

On campus, I was involved in Swim4Success, Wall Street Krewe, Women in Business, Epsilon Eta Sigma, and Chi Omega sorority.

After graduation, I will be moving to New York City to join HSBC’s Innovation Banking team, where I will support venture debt investments in high-growth startups across climate tech, fintech, and healthcare/life sciences.

I am so incredibly grateful for my experience in the Altman Program, which has not only shaped my academic and professional path, but also who I am today. Thank you to my Altman family, I truly couldn’t have done it without y’all. I will cherish this experience forever and look forward to what’s to come!

Cameron Garbutt🎓
I am graduating with degrees in Political Science and Legal Studies in Business with a specialization in Entrepreneurship and a focus in French. My Altman Program target language is French, and during my junior year abroad, I spent the spring semester in Paris, France, working at Ogilvy Consulting. During my time at Tulane, I have been passionate about brand strategy, storytelling, and turning research-driven insights into meaningful outcomes. In the spring semester of my junior year, I worked as a Junior Strategist at Ogilvy Consulting in Paris, supporting nonprofit behavioral change projects across the Global South. Then, during the following summers, I completed brand strategy internships at Johannes Leonardo in New York — working with clients like Adidas, VW, and Instagram — and at FundamentalCo, supporting Fortune 500 clients including VISA and Blackstone. During my time as a Tulane student, I made the Dean’s List from 2023 to 2025. After graduation, I will be interning at Leo/New York as a brand strategy intern. I have learned so much from my time in Altman, and I feel so empowered to begin my next chapter with all the knowledge I’ve gained. Thank you to everyone who helped me get to this point. I am forever grateful for this experience.

Emily Eckerman🎓
I am graduating with degrees in Finance and Political Economy with a minor in French. During my junior year abroad, I spent my fall semester in Strasbourg, France at EM Strasbourg and my spring semester in Toulouse, France through CIEE and taking courses at l’Institut Catholique de Toulouse. During my time at Tulane, I have been a member of organizations and campus activities like Green Bull Investment Banking Group, Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, Mock Trial, French Club, Phi Mu Sorority, RBC Capital Markets Women’s Advisory Program, and Girls Who Invest. My freshman and sophomore year, I was an Administrative Intern for the French American Chamber of Commerce Gulf Coast chapter in New Orleans. In summer 2024, I interned with the Tulane Endowment as a Summer Investment Analyst in White Plains, NY. The following summer, I worked with the Technology group at KeyBanc Capital Markets as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst in San Francisco. During the academic year 2025-2026, I have been an Investment Research Manager for the Burkenroad Reports. As a Tulane student, I have made the Dean’s list every semester of college and received the Tulane 34 Award, the highest award bestowed on 34 graduates at unified commencement. Upon graduation, I will be moving to New York City to work at Morgan Stanley as an Investment Banking Analyst with the Corporate Defense and Shareholder Activism Team within the M&A Group. I am truly so thankful for my experience in Altman and for my friends, family, professors, and peers that have supported me these past four years of college. I am super excited for the next chapter of my life, and forever grateful for my time in New Orleans, France, and with the Altman Program!
