Hey parents, need 2 hours of cheap entertainment this summer?

Head to your local dollar store and sn**ch up 5 cans of the largest, cheapest, shaving cream you can find. Spray into bowls, cups - whatever you have on hand- and mix in some food coloring with hands, spoons, or sticks.

Let children explore in whatever way they feel possible. Need an extra hour? Add some water bowls to wash up!

If you have a child attending jk/sk this year, our program is the perfect addition to their education!

Our Friday class offers small educator to student ratios, large welcoming hearts, and the opportunity to deep dive into the natural way of the world through Forest and Nature School lessons.

Happy Winter Solstice and Blessed Yule!

Follow the path of nature, and take solstice in the rest of darkness for lighter days are just ahead. Release the weight of 2022, and welcome the possibilities of 2023.

This week we've been talking about hibernation!

We followed some animal tracks, saw some potential animal hideaways, and brushed up on our knowledge of how different animals make homes.

Robyn's Nest Nature Preschool: Kinder Birds is a nature-led program for children 3.5-6 years of age. Learning happens outside of the traditional 4-wall school setting, focusing on natural ways of the world, caring for the Earth and all living creatures, celebrating the moon phases and nature-focused holidays, and participating in risky play.
After starting our day at home base, the group will travel to several different outdoor locations in all seasons of weather and enjoy their packed lunches in the fresh open air. Programming will run in line to the current school year, and will not operate during school breaks or summer. Classes will run bi-weekly Fridays, on A days and B days.
Robyn's Nest Nature Preschool operates under the Ontario Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 and will happily provide monthly tax receipts. Classroom size is 5 children to 1 adult, promoting a close, loving relationship and above all else, helping kids feel at home in nature.
