The Well Homeschool Community

The Well Homeschool Community This page is for homeschool events organized throughout the year and awareness of The Well Homeschool Community centered in La Grange, Texas.

At The Well, our desire is to encourage parents and caregivers to seek the Lord in parenting and in educating those they are charged with; raising children to honor God with their lives. The Well meets once a week at a local church from late August through May for family style learning in Science, Art, Bible, and Presentations. We will also go on multiple educational field trips throughout the year. If you would like more information, please message us.

✨ WEEK 1 AT THE WELL ✨

We’re back!! 💛 What a sweet first day together and such a fun way to begin a brand new year at The Well!

🧪 Science: We kicked off chemistry by learning What is Chemistry? and talking about important lab safety. Our older students also began exploring the difference between physical and chemical changes.

🎤 Public Speaking: We started with the foundations of public speaking, while our Communication class explored first impressions—how we present ourselves and communicate with others from the very beginning.

🗣️ Class Presentations: Students got to know one another through an “All About Me” interview, giving them an opportunity to practice speaking in front of their classmates right from week one!

🎶 Hymn Study: We began learning ’Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus—such a beautiful reminder as we step into a new school year together.

📖 Scripture Memory: We started working through Romans 12:1–8, focusing our hearts and minds on God’s Word as we begin the year.

We’re so grateful to have these kids back together—learning, building friendships, growing in confidence, and encouraging one another. We can’t wait to see all that this year holds! 🌿

For His glory and their good. 💛

Can you believe we’ve finished the school year?! It absolutely FLEW by!

What an incredible year it has been — truly a gift from God. This was our first year operating The Well alongside our Board of Directors, and it has been such a beautiful picture of the importance of teamwork and people serving through their God-given gifts and talents.

For nearly a year, our board has met almost monthly, prayerfully and intentionally working through every detail of this school year. We are so grateful for the time, heart, and dedication that has gone into making this community what it is. 💛 It is such an honor to serve alongside these sweet, God-fearing families.

Our last day at co-op was an EPIC one! Last year, we made a last-minute decision to let the kids host a market, and it was such a fun success. This year, with more planning and preparation, the kids absolutely blew us away! Many of them worked tirelessly on their projects, and it truly showed. Watching their creativity, hard work, and confidence shine was such a special way to end the year together. ✨

We are beyond grateful to every family that is a part of our community!

✨ Weeks 22 & 23 Recap ✨

It’s hard to believe we’re nearing the end of our semester — these weeks have been so full! We have 1 week left of class… and it’s going to be a full one! 😁

📖 Bible: We followed Paul’s journey — from becoming a Christian (Acts 9) to stepping into his calling as a missionary (Acts 13–14). Such a powerful reminder of how God transforms lives and uses ordinary people for His purpose.

🌬️ Science: We explored air pressure and then flight and lift, discovering how unseen forces help things move and fly — so many fun experiments and “wow” moments!

🎨 Art: We learned about Modest Mussorgsky and Jean-Michel Basquiat, giving the kids a chance to experience both music and bold artistic expression in new ways.

🗣️ Presentations:
• Students shared awards they’ve received
• And enjoyed presenting while bringing their favorite snacks to share — always a highlight! 🍿

🏡 Open House: One of the biggest highlights was welcoming 10 new families to join us for the day! It was such a joy to share what a typical Friday looks like and invite others into the heart of our community.

We are off this week for Good Friday but here is our week 21 Recap! 😊

📖 Bible: We talked about what it means to be one body in Christ (1 Corinthians 12) — each of us uniquely gifted and all working together as part of God’s bigger plan.

🌊 Science: We explored buoyancy, testing what sinks and floats and discovering how objects interact with water — lots of fun experiments and surprises!

🎨 Art: We learned about Alexander Calder and his incredible moving sculptures, inspiring creativity and new ways to think about art.

🗣️ Presentations:
• Students shared about a job someone in their family does
• Building confidence, clarity, and connection through speaking each week
