Trauma
Trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event like an accident, r**e or natural disaster, or a pervasive problem. Others may say trauma is going through very stressful, frightening or distressing events.

How to deal with trauma
1. Lean on your loved ones, Identify friends or family members for support.
3.Face your feelings. It's normal to want to avoid thinking about a traumatic event.
4.Prioritize self-care.
Do your best to eat nutritious meals, get regular physical activity, and get a good night's sleep.
5.Be patient, do not force your self into healing just take your time.

There are 5 stages to this process:
1.Denial - Do not allow the emotions to overwhelm you, manifest that this can not be happening to you.
2.Anger - why did this have to happen? Think of anything positive towards the situation.
3. Bargaining - I promise I'll never ask for another thing if only you will.
4. Depression - a gloom that comes from having to adjust to so much so quickly.
5.Acceptance of the stress or trauma that you have been through.

Trauma works almost hand in hand with anxiety because once you have been traumatised, stress, confusion, sadness and agitation starts to kick on. One with anxiety may have the same symptoms.

Good day
Today we will be having a discussion on anxiety and it is a vast topic on its own but it will be broken down.

Anxiety is a feeling of fear, dread, and uneasiness while An anxiety attack usually involves a fear of some specific occurrence or problem that could happen.

Signs and symptoms of anxiety disorder
1. Excessive Worrying
One of the most common symptoms of an anxiety disorder is excessive worrying.

People with anxiety disorders will worry disproportionately about events or everyday situations.

2.Feeling Agitated
When someone is feeling anxious, part of their sympathetic nervous system goes into overdrive.

This kicks off effects throughout the body, such as:

-racing pulse
-sweaty palms
-shaky hands
-dry mouth
These symptoms occur because your brain believes you’ve sensed danger, and it’s preparing your body to react to the threat.

Your body carries blood away from your digestive system and toward your muscles in case you need to run or fight. It also increases your heart rate and heightens your senses.

While these effects would be helpful in the case of a true threat, they can be debilitating if the fear is all in your head.

3. Panic Attacks
Panic attacks produce an intense, overwhelming sensation of fear that can be debilitating.

During a panic attack, a person may also experience:

-rapid heartbeat
-sweating
-shaking
-shortness of breath
-chest tightness
-nausea
Panic attacks can happen as isolated occurrences, but they may be a sign of panic disorder if they occur frequently and unexpectedly.

Types of Anxiety Disorders
There are several types of anxiety disorders:

1. Generalized anxiety disorder.
You feel excessive, unrealistic worry and tension with little or no reason.

2. Panic disorder.
You feel sudden, intense fear that brings on a panic attack. During a panic attack you may break out in a sweat, have chest pain, and have a pounding heartbeat (palpitations). Sometimes you may feel like you’re choking or having a heart attack.
3. Social anxiety disorder.
Also called social phobia, this is when you feel overwhelming worry and self-consciousness about everyday social situations. You obsessively worry about others judging you or being embarrassed or ridiculed.

4. Specific phobias.
You feel intense fear of a specific object or situation, such as heights or flying. The fear goes beyond what’s appropriate and may cause you to avoid ordinary situations.

Did You Know?

That it is rather difficult to deal and overcome depression. This is because, depression drains your energy, hope, and drive, making it difficult to take the steps that will help you to feel better. Sometimes, just thinking about the things you should do to feel better, like exercising or spending time with friends, can seem exhausting or impossible to put into action.
