TREMENDOUSLY SKILLED ITALIAN PIANIST GIACOMO MENEGARDI JOINS KNS CLASSICAL WITH “HUMORESKE”

After winning the W.A.Mozart International Piano Competition of Lugano , as well as the “Premio Alkan per il virtuosismo pianistico”, Italian pianist Giacomo Menegardi joins KNS Classical family with his debut CD “Humoreske”.
Praised as a “true talent”, exceptionally clean and a great personality, Menegardi recorded three piano masterworks, where he shows all his virtuosity, expressiveness and uniqueness in the touch: Mendelssohn’s Fantasia in F sharp Minor, Op. 28, Beethoven’s Op.111 Sonata and the beautiful and rarely played but beautiful Schumann’s Humoreske.

NEWS | "W. A. Mozart" International Piano Competition 06/08/2020

IMPORTANT NEWS !!
Dear contestants,
due to the large amount of 90 talented candidates from 28 countries , 39 in Junior category and 51 in Master category, the jury has decided that in order to better evaluate all the competitors it will be necessary to divide the competition into two phases: first round and final.
First round: to establish which candidates will be admitted to the final round, each juror will express a positive or negative opinion of each candidate. The candidate will be admitted based on the number of positive and negative opinions.
A maximum of 20 candidates for the Junior category and 25 candidates for the Master category will be admitted to the final round.
Final round: to establish the winners, each juror will evaluate the finalists by expressing a vote in numbers (in hundredths), then an arithmetic average will be made among all the votes.

The new results publication dates are:
- 23 August, publication of candidates admitted to the final
- 8 September, publication of the winners.

ANNA KRAVTCHENKO,concert pianist,
founder of the "Amadeus" International Competition and Professor at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana of Lugano, Switzerland
Anna Kravtchenko has distinguished herself on the international piano scene after winning unanimously the first prize at the prestigious "Ferruccio Busoni" International Piano Competition in 1992 at only 16 years old.
Anna Kravtchenko after teaching for 15 years at the International Piano Academy “Incontri col Maestro” of Imola, since 2013 she is a Professor at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana, University of Lugano, Switzerland.
Harold Schoenberg, one of the most autorithative musical critics and journalists of the New York Times, wrote about her: ”Her radiant sound and poetical interpretations could sometimes reduce audiences to tears“.

Anna Kravtchenko has played in the most important halls and worldwide events such as the Berlin Philharmonie, the Great Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw for the "Meesterpianisten serie", at the Tonhalle in Zurich, at the "La Roque D'Antheron Festival", for the Brescia and Bergamo Festival, in the Sala Verdi of Milan for "Serate musicali", in the Herkulessaal in Munich, for the Ruhr Piano Festival, in the Salle Gaveau in Paris, Wigmore Hall in London, in the Victoria Hall Geneva, for the "Piano Aux Jacobins" Festival in Toulouse, for the Bergen Festival, etc. She has also toured Japan, South Africa, the United States and Canada.

She has performed with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the Swedish Radio Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Chamber Orchestra, the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, the Residentie Orchestra, the Essen Philharmonic, London Royal Philharmonic, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra, RAI National Symphony Orchestra, etc.

In 2006 she recorded a CD for DECCA Records, a recital entirely dedicated to Chopin. In the same year Anna Kravtchenko won the International Web Concert Hall Competition in the USA.
Her latest CD for DECCA dedicated to Liszt has been reviewed with five stars and has received the award of the title "Cd of the month" in the main Italian magazines including Amadeus, Classic Voice, Suonare News and Musica.
In 2010 Deutsche Grammophon selected four pieces recorded by her for insertion in the "Grande Classica" and "Classic Gold" box, published in May 2010.

Born in 1976, Anna Kravtchenko began studying piano at the age of five. She studied with Maestro Leonid Margarius at the International Piano Academy of Imola, where she was admitted "Ad Honorem".

She is the creator and the President of the Associazione Mozart Svizzera.
