Greetings Esteemed Colleagues!
On the 21st of December, we had a mentorship webinar by Clinical Medicine Students Association-Egerton University and an extended invite to Clinical Medicine Students Association of Mt. Kenya. We were glad to have had a wonderful session of mentorship from our wonderful guests.
An overview of the discussions from;
✅Dr. Brian Lishenga
Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, who went on to challenge us to work hard to make it to the top 10% of our profession and enjoy the privileges that comes with it. The urge to give our best and stand out was eminent as he let us know that we can always do better. He also made clear that with his leadership in the faculty, he is ready to support us and even more proposals that will benefit higher learning in the profession within the university.
✅Madam Caroline Irungu from Mt. Kenya University, our guest, took the stage to expound the history of the profession, training and areas of specializations available for us broadly and in detail. She let us know that we are capable of doing anything and are able to pursue our passion so long as we do not let anyone look down upon us. Expounding on our passion and zeal for what we do, she made it clear that all things are possible.
✅Our Patron and a guest too Dr.David Njeru also took the stage to give us further history of the profession, more areas of specialization and areas available for us to look into. In addition he gave us a wider perspective of our recognition around the world and steps being taken towards our advancement. He made it clear that we are up to rise and advance in the profession.
✅Leshan Kereto, the Vice President of IFPACS and President of KeCMSA also took the chance to give a detailed talk on students organization from the local-CliMSA to the National- the upcoming Kenya Clinical Medicine Students Association(KeCMSA) and even international level, the International Federation of Physician Assistant/Physician Associates and Clinical officers/Clinical Associates Student's Association(IFPACS). He further took the team through the importance of these students organization in" Uniting students, involving them in productive activities and in advancing the profession". Further into the details, their roles in networking, cooperation, teamwork, developing leadership skills among several others.
We are glad to have students from even different institutions around the country join us and showing how much we yearn to unite and become one. This of which we purposefully are working on.

Ladies and gentlemen, if you want to see far, stand on the shoulders of giants and such mentorship programmes have no bigger difference from giants. Let us stand on them, fast and tight as we rise together.
Our sincere gratitude goes to all those that made this possible in every single step and effort who include the Clinical Medicine Students Associations (Egerton University) office led by Abubakr Ahmed, Clinical Medicine Students Associations(Mt. Kenya) led by Charity Adhiambo, Our wonderful guest Madam Caroline Irungu of Mt. Kenya, Dr. David Njeru of Egerton university, Patron of Clinical Medicine Students Association (Egerton University) and Dr. Brian Lishenga, the Dean of the Faculty of health sciences Egerton University and to our wonderful and eloquent moderator Sifa Gladys.
We cannot forget our wonderful members and colleagues for showing up in numbers to benefit from the program. We are happy that you found this important.
Just like Iron sharpens iron and people work for people, only people can mentor people. We are glad and happy to have been able to make this a success.
We will keep you up to date in further sessions like this.
We are better together!💪🏾
