The picture above is of beautiful Mavis.
Mavis is 2 years old and, over the last two weeks, has been fighting for her life in the PICU.
Unfortunately, Mavis has been diagnosed with a rare cancer - EBV-positive T Cell Lymphoma of Childhood. This is one of the most aggressive forms of lymphoproliferative disorders, and soon, she will need a bone marrow transplant.
Mavis is one of the smartest, kindest, gentlest, most beautiful 2 year olds I've ever met . She deserves every kindness in return to get better so she can be back home with her family where she belongs and back playing in parks like she loved to do.
So today, I ask one thing. If you are between the age of 18 and 35 and of course healthy enough to donate, please sign up for the stem cell registry, they will check your eligibility and you can then get tested for bone marrow compatibility. The more people do this, the likelier it is that the Drs can find a match for Mavis.

You can order a cheek swab from the stem cell donor website to get tested at home. Or you can do it at a blood collection site, AND YOU CAN DO THIS ALLOVER THE WORLD. You do not have to be in Australia, and the registry covers worldwide!
If you aren't eligible, thank you for checking, and please consider donating blood or plasma instead. In two short weeks, Mavis has received multiple transfusions of differing blood products that have got her from the ventilator in the PICU to a more stable ward in the hospital. It really changes outcomes and saves lives. It did for Mavis.
