We ask for your patience in this fluid situation, and appreciate your understanding. Re-booking the tournament in 2020 depends on Government response and venue availability. We are in communication with the organization that provides our electronic registration in order to define the process for issuing refunds to our paid competitors however there is a lock-down in effect in many parts of the world, and this is contributing to delays and uncertainty. Rest assured that your registration is preserved in the system and we will either issue credit at our re-booked event, or at a future event date TBD. We will issue refunds as soon as possible to all those who request them, and will provide the details for refund-request at the earliest opportunity. Thank you,
-Tiger Balm Internationals

COVID-19 UPDATE
Due to the Government ban on gatherings of 250 people or more as well as a moratorium on travel we have been forced to cancel the event scheduled for March 21-22. It is with great regret that we are undertaking the cancellation of the Tiger Balm Internationals and we apologize sincerely for any inconvenience and disruption that this causes.

You can be reassured that our event will proceed as planned. Our registration numbers are strong and continue to rise. We are receiving many questions about whether we may cancel. Obviously this is an evolving situation globally and we are committed to the health and safety of our participants. Currently health professionals are assuring the public that the risk from COVID-19 is very low. As martial artists our response to fear is not to shy away or cower, but rather to confront head-on and summon our courage. Rational behaviour with self-imposed modifications that ensure health (such as regular hand-washing) will help everyone to move forward without undue panic. Best wishes

WIth Danger Comes Opportunity

The Tiger Balm Internationals has been running annually for more than 3 decades and it will run again this year on March 21 and 22. Year-after-year, what makes this tournament so special is YOU:

-The competitors who strive for excellence under duress;

-The officials and participants who bring their skills and share them freely;

-The audience that holds its breath and then roars with appreciation, that claps at the demonstrations of warrior love, as well as the recoveries and shows of heart;

-The tireless volunteers that work so hard behind the scenes, who enjoy their front-row seats, the camaraderie, and the sandwiches.

We will be holding our 2020 tournament gladly and with courage. We will be paying special attention to the opportunity to enjoy the strength and solidarity of the martial arts community amidst a time of great global uncertainty.
There is much information and mis-information flying about in this world these days. It is important to adopt the level of risk in your behaviour with which you are comfortable. Responsible behaviour includes refraining from exposing others to one’s illness when one knows one is sick.

As a Promoter of the Tiger Balm Internationals, I would like to assure you that everyone's health and safety is our number one priority and we are undertaking special measures to ensure that our goals are met for this year and into the future.

Thank you for your support and good luck to you.
Sincerely,

Sifu Josh Schafer
