Jefferson County Teachers Association Network for Racial and Social Justice Welcome to the Jefferson County Teachers Association (JCTA) Network for Racial and Social Justice.

This page is maintained by JCTA members to raise awareness of racial and social justice engagement opportunities in our area. The Jefferson County Teachers Association Human & Civil Rights' Committee has the mission of addressing social justice issues in our schools and in our community, creating an awareness to train teachers to better relate to all students and parents, and bring about productive harmony based on respect for all individuals and groups. Some of our annual projects include hosting the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Diversity Arts Contest and Memorial Awards Dinner, choosing recipients for the annual Exemplary Student Scholarships, overseeing diversity training, supporting community organizations, and planning community racial dialog events.

Signup for our Community Cooks program starting on 9/25 at 5 p.m. at the JCPS Satellite Office.

This program is designed to educate students and families on affordable, tasty, and healthier meal options.

Participants will learn proper kitchen techniques, kitchen fire safety, and how to cook popular meals at a healthy and affordable cost.

We are Seeking Parents/Families :

Children Advocacy Day is January 24th 2024 and we are wanting our black and brown kids to show up and be seen !

We will rally in the Rotonda, meet Secretary of State, tour the Captiol and fellowship with other at the social media area.

We will provide breakfast at departure location
(2600 W Broadway) and snack before we leave for the day.

Participants must:
Provide your own transportation
Bring Lunch
Come to learn, be educated, ask questions and have fun.
