20 Lessons Learned from "The Art of War " by SUN TZU
#1 Unprepared Loses
You have to live and finish the war with every detail in your mind. There should be no room for surprises. During the battle, your time and other resources will be limited. If you don’t know which resource to use for how long, you’re stuck in the middle of nowhere. The party with the plan is strong. The side that has a good plan is the side that is close to victory. Plan the week, the day, the hour, even the minutes.
#2 Creating a Budget
Be aware of how much budget you have for everything from your education to your vacation and how many days or years you can manage with it. Do not try to do a big job by saying that I will find a budget later. It can take a lifetime to compensate for such risks.
#3 Thinking Over and Over
As mentioned earlier in this The Art of War Summary, don’t be lazy thinking. Think again and again about what might happen when you encounter your enemy. Live it over and over in your mind. Repeat this until you have realistically formed the possibilities that will win you over. Trust your abilities, then pursue victory.
#4 Save the Big Goal for Last
Start with small goals first. Even if you want to, you cannot reach the big goal at the beginning of the road. You cannot walk the day you are born. You cannot write poetry the day you learn to write. You will improve yourself day by day. Keeping your big goal in mind, you will move forward with small steps. Knowing that that day will come, but without haste.
#5 Strict Rules
If there is anything as important as strict rules, it is knowing when to bend the rules. The one who adapts wins. When the conditions change, the rules also change. Be the party that sets and enforces the rules. Because you can’t always control the conditions.
#6 Be Unpredictable
Appear so defenseless in the face of the enemy that he will lower all their shields against you. If you are weak, look so strong that the enemy does not want to fight you.
A fool sees the downfall of another man as a topic of discussion.
But the wise sees it as
a warning to himself.
The power of a parent's tongue👇
A story is told about a young Thomas Edison who came home one day with a paper for his mother. He told her, “My teacher told me to give this paper only to my mother.”
Thomas’ mother read the note and her eyes filled with tears. Thomas asked his mother what the note said, and she read aloud,
“Your son is a genius. This school is too small for him and doesn’t have enough good teachers for training him. Please teach him yourself.”
And that’s exactly what Thomas’ mother did; she home-schooled her child with devotion and dedication. As the story goes, many years later after Thomas Edison’s mother passed on, and he was now one of the world’s greatest inventors, he found a folded paper among other family items. He opened the very same paper that had been handed to him to give to his mother and read the following message:
“Your son is mentally ill. We won’t let him come to school anymore.”
At that moment, Edison realised what his mother had done for him so many years ago. He wrote in his diary: “Thomas Alva Edison was an addled child that, by a hero mother, became the genius of the century.”
“The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”
Can you imagine what might have happened to Thomas Edison if his mother had read to him the reckless and hurtful words written by his teacher? He might never have invented the light bulb or made his many other contributions to society.
Thank God for the wisdom and wise words of his mother! She created the context in which her son could grow to his full potential.
Let’s take this message to heart and resolve to use our words for healing today. You might be a parent, what do you say to your children.... You might be a teacher, what do you say to your student... especially the ones that are not really performing well presently.... What do you say about your parents, family, boss, subordinate, leader, colleague, follower.... Just as hurtful words can cause uncontroll

"There is no need to fear death
When you have lived your life well
There is no need to fear getting old
When you have spent your time wisely
There is no need to fear losing someone
When you have loved them fully
And there is no need to fear rejection
When you have learned to love yourself fully."

Top 10 Lesson learned from the Book “The Art of the Good Life”
1. Peak-end Rule:
You remember the high point and the end point of your holiday, but the rest is forgotten.
Remind to make them as sweet as possible.
2. Plans are nothing. Planning is everything.
A good life is not a stable state or condition.
The good life is only achieved through constant readjustment.
3. Inflexibility as a Stratagem
When it comes to important issues, flexibility isn’t an advantage – it’s a trap.
Use radical inflexibility to reach long-term goals that would be unrealizable if their behavior were more flexible.
4. Reality Doesn’t Care About Your Feelings
Accepting reality is easy when you like what you see, but you’ve got to accept it even when you don’t – especially when you don’t.
5. Counter-productivity
A basic rule of the good life is as follows: if it doesn’t genuinely contribute something, you can do without it.
Next time, try switching on your brain instead of reaching for the nearest gadget.
6. Do Nothing Wrong and the Right Thing Will Happen
So do your best to systematically eliminate the downside in your life – then you’ll have a real chance of achieving a good life.
There are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are no bold old pilots.
7. Why You Didn’t Earn Your Successes
Your success are fundamentally based on things over which you have no control whatsoever.
Stay humble. Remind yourself daily that everything you are, everything you have and can do, is the result of blind chance.
8. Don’t make your emotions your compass.
Because our emotions are so unreliable, a good rule of thumb is to take them less seriously – especially the negative ones.
9. THE Authenticity Trap
Restrict authenticity to keeping your promises and acting according to your principles.
The rest is nobody else’s business.
10. THE 5 Second No
Once Seneca said: “All those who summon you to themselves, turn you away from your own self.”
So give the five-second no a trial
Never blame anyone in your life. Good people give you happiness. Bad people give you experience. The worst people give you a lesson and the best people give you memories.
