The sun aligned directly with the holy Kaaba at the Grand Mosque in Mecca today, creating a celestial event known as the “zero shadow” phenomenon.

At 14:18 Pakistan Standard Time (PST) and 12:18 Saudi Arabian Time, the sun’s disc was positioned immediately over the Kaaba, causing the sacred structure to lose its shadow briefly.

This unique alignment occurs twice each year due to Mecca’s location between the Equator and the Tropic of Cancer.

Astronomers note that this phenomenon allows for a precise determination of the Qibla direction, which is significant for Muslims worldwide in their daily prayers.
