Today, our school was privileged to welcome representatives from Utah Valley University, who spent valuable time encouraging and inspiring our students to live healthy, respectful, and responsible lives.

The special visit focused on promoting healthy lifestyles by encouraging students to eat nutritious foods, stay physically active, practise good behaviour, and say NO to obesity. Students were reminded that taking care of their health is important for their growth, learning, and future success.

One of the highlights of the program was an entertaining and educational puppet show based on the story “Puka and the Giant Sea Turtle.” Through this creative performance, students learned important lessons about the dangers of misusing social media platforms and mobile phones. The show encouraged students to use technology wisely, avoid harmful online behaviour, and focus on positive communication and healthy relationships.

The program delivered meaningful messages in a fun and engaging way, helping students understand the importance of making wise choices both online and offline.

We sincerely thank Utah Valley University for their wonderful visit, inspiring presentations, and for empowering our students to become healthier, kinder, and more responsible young leaders of the future.

Good morning parents, families, and partners of George Brown Primary School.

The school would like to kindly inform everyone that yesterday’s weather conditions were extremely rough, with heavy rainfall experienced throughout the day and night. As a result of the severe weather, the school water supply has been affected by possible contamination from rainwater and flooding. At this stage, the water available at school is considered unsafe for drinking until proper cleaning and safety checks are completed.

The health, safety, and wellbeing of our students remain our highest priority. Therefore, we respectfully ask all parents and guardians to support the school by ensuring that every child brings their own bottle of clean drinking water from home each day. Please make sure the water is enough for your child throughout the school day, especially during class activities and break times.

We also encourage parents to label their children’s water bottles clearly with their names to avoid confusion or sharing among students. Sharing drinking bottles is discouraged for hygiene and health reasons.

The school administration is currently monitoring the situation closely and will continue working to ensure a safe environment for all students and staff. Once the water supply is confirmed safe for drinking again, parents will be officially informed immediately.

We sincerely thank all parents, families, and community partners for your patience, cooperation, and continued support during this time. By working together, we can continue to protect the health and wellbeing of every child at George Brown Primary School.
