My young assistant coach has been keeping me on my toes with my language in the huddle. Her influence helps me to deliver messages in a way that works, but isn’t 18+ rated!! I needed that, so thank you. 🙏

BIG game coming up for vs in the cup! Big games are what we train for - the chance to progress towards a Championship. One team will lose on Wednesday - that element is what brings focus and pressure. This Wednesday we have a chance to overcome a big challenge. But we can’t wait until then, we need to be working today & tomorrow in all areas to give ourselves the best possible chance of success.

Win or Learn? …. Yesterday’s game:
Regulation: - Down 2, 12 seconds left, they have the ball, 2 fouls to give. We get a steal, run out lay-up, tied game. As time ticked down we stole it again & the ball rattled in & out as the buzzer sounded. Overtime. We’re up 1 with the ball & 20 seconds left. They steal it, run out lay-up for the win. …. You could say that those four plays decided the game. But what about the other 44.5 minutes? …. We lost this one, and there was a lot of frustration, anger, disappointment & sadness at the end of the game. The loss seemed to force us to look at ourselves & find solutions. But if we would’ve won, does that mean we wouldn’t need to learn? As much as the win can bring elation and joy and the loss can bring heart-break, we need to find a way to look objectively at our performance and continue our work towards individual and collective success. …. The game is an opportunity to perform and to express what you have been working on. Be careful not to get distracted by the wins & losses. Win or Learn? No. Play the game. Somebody’s going to win, somebody’s going to lose. Take the wins & losses as they come; enjoy the process and keep improving. …. Love
