Humane AI – Asia warmly congratulates Talita Dias on the publication of “Closing the AI Assurance Divide”—a timely and important contribution to advancing AI assurance ecosystems that are inclusive of the Global South, not only the Global North.
We particularly value the paper’s grounded focus on the real-world constraints faced by developing economies, including limitations in institutional capacity, incentives, access to documentation, and ecosystem maturity. Its emphasis on moving from high-level principles to credible, implementable assurance mechanisms strongly reflects the realities observed across emerging AI markets.
As part of our ongoing engagement in international research and policy-oriented initiatives on AI governance and assurance, Humane AI – Asia was pleased to contribute Vietnam-specific insights and on-the-ground perspectives to this work. In Vietnam and across Southeast Asia, AI adoption is accelerating rapidly, while the urgency to operationalize trustworthy and accountable AI systems continues to grow—underscoring the need for context-aware and locally relevant assurance frameworks.
We look forward to seeing this research inform policy development, market infrastructure, and cross-border collaboration on AI assurance, and to continued global cooperation in building practical pathways toward trustworthy AI across the Global South.
