There is one thing I won’t let anyone in my community say.

You can share openly, be vulnerable, learn, grow, expand.

But this one thing? It’s banned.

“I have to” and “I need to.”

You don’t need or have to do anything.

You get to.

I have to work on my business today.
I need to show up and create something.
I have to go to the gym.
I need to speak to...

I get to work on my business today.
I get to show up and create something.
I get to move my body.
I get to have a difficult conversation that will make things better.

The language you use about your own life is not just words.
It’s the story you’re telling yourself about whether your life is a gift or a burden.

And for a long time mine was a burden. I was constantly in have to mode. Have to go to work. Have to be on. Have to perform.

The moment I started saying I get to - life started to feel different.
Not because my circumstances changed. Because my relationship to them did.
