RECAP | DON'T LET ONE PUSH BECOME A SECURITY INCIDENT: ONE SMALL PUSH, ONE BIG RISK 🚀
On the evening of August 15, 2026, the event Don't Let One Push Become a Security Incident, organized by AWS Student Builder Groups SGU, was successfully held via Microsoft Teams. The session provided students with valuable insights into DevSecOps, CI/CD Security, and secure software delivery practices, helping participants better understand the security risks that may arise during software development and deployment.
🔥 The event was honored to welcome Pham Hoang Huy (Cloud Engineer at Galaxy One) as the speaker. Through practical examples and real-world experiences, he demonstrated how a single mistake, such as committing API Keys, Access Keys, credentials, or vulnerable code to a repository, can potentially evolve into a serious security incident.
🔐 Throughout the session, participants explored key concepts including DevSecOps mindset, Security Gates, Secret Scanning, Dependency Scanning, Artifact Integrity, and enterprise-grade technologies such as GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Amazon ECR, Amazon ECS/Fargate, and DefectDojo. More importantly, the speaker highlighted critical principles such as Detect Early, Fail Safely, Actionable Feedback, and Traceable Resolution, emphasizing the importance of embedding security into every stage of the software development lifecycle.
🚀 More than just a security-focused workshop, the event inspired students to think beyond automation and recognize that security is ultimately a shared responsibility between tools, processes, and people. The session also provided valuable guidance for those pursuing careers in Cloud Computing, DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Cyber Security, helping them build a stronger learning roadmap for the future.
💙 AWS Student Builder Groups SGU would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Pham Hoang Huy for sharing his knowledge, practical experience, and industry insights. We would also like to thank all participants for joining, engaging, and contributing to the success of the event.
