(O)bservation without (E)valuation

Observation means seeing things as they truly are, nothing more than facts. Evaluation means adding our own subjective thoughts and then jumping to conclusions, which are probably based on nothing more than our experiences.

We need to separate observations from evaluations, or at least acknowledge whenever we are evaluating perceived information or just genuinely observing.

But why we need to do that? and how?

"Is it true that growth mindset is more important than intelligence?"

While a growth mindset fosters valuable traits like perseverance and a love of learning, it can't entirely bridge a significant intellectual gulf.

Studies by James Heckman, a Nobel laureate in economics, suggest that cognitive skills in early childhood have a lasting impact on educational attainment and future earnings. This highlights the importance of a baseline intellectual capacity for a growth mindset to truly flourish.

In fields demanding exceptional cognitive ability, raw intelligence remains a crucial gatekeeper. For instance, in a study by Ericsson on chess expertise, deliberate practice (a key tenet of a growth mindset) was only effective for those with a minimum level of innate talent. Similarly, in medicine, mastering the vast amount of scientific knowledge required for specialties like neurosurgery necessitates a strong foundation in cognitive abilities.

However, the importance of intelligence varies across disciplines. Fields like social work or marketing might value emotional intelligence and communication skills more, which a growth mindset can nurture.

The comparison in importance between intelligence and growth mindset is complex. Perhaps a better way to view it is that intelligence provides the raw materials, while a growth mindset furnishes the tools and motivation to refine them.

How do you think about the idea of creating a perfect world?

Do you think AI will ever has emotion like human beings and meaningful conversation?

It's essential to consider the inherent limitations of artificial intelligence. While improvements in AI technology enhance their ability to mimic human conversation, chatbots are becoming more and more sophisticated in their interactions, it's crucial to acknowledge the fundamental differences between artificial intelligence and human beings in terms of genuine understanding, empathy, and emotional intelligence, which are components for meaningful conversations.

Human understanding and empathy stem from complex cognitive processes deeply rooted in our biological and social evolution, involving emotions, experiences, and subjective interpretations that are unique to each individual. Similarly, creativity in humans emerges from a combination of imagination, intuition, emotional intelligence, and cultural influences, enabling us to generate novel ideas, solve complex problems, and express ourselves in various artistic forms.

While it's possible for chatbots to simulate understanding, empathy, and creativity to some extent, they lack the intrinsic human qualities and subjective experiences that develop these abilities. Furthermore, their responses are algorithmically driven and lack the spontaneity, intuition, and adaptability inherent in human communication.

Thus, while AI may continue to advance, it's unlikely that AI will ever fully replicate the depth and richness of human emotions.

“…all the greatest and most important problems of life are fundamentally insoluble…They can never be solved, but only outgrown.” – C. G. Jung

It is important to embrace the tension between opposing choices rather than rushing to a impulsive resolution. Holding this tension is essential for genuine transformation and growth, both individually and collectively. By resisting the urge to choose one side over the other too quickly, we create space for a third possibility to emerge - a resolution that transcends the need for either/or decisions. This approach challenges traditional problem-solving methods rooted in black-and-white thinking and encourages us to tolerate uncertainty and complexity. Ultimately, by holding the tension of opposites, we could expand our understanding, find unexpected resolutions, and foster greater unity within ourselves and the world around us.

Embrace the uncertainty.

In situations where you lack awareness of the triggering hehind your emotions, you might unexpectedly find yourself wrestling with introspective questions, unconsciously blaming yourself, contemplating what could potentially be the root cause of your discomfort and confusion.

Do you support or oppose the notion that being aware of our ignorance motivates us to remain curious and seek solutions?

Do you agree that: "You know what's best for you, so there's no need for you to justify your choices"?

No response was still a response even in silence. There are instances when acting a certain way doesn't require an explanation to anybody. You know what's best for you, so there's no need for you to justify your choices. You are aware of the sacrifices you made and the difficulties you overcame to get to where you are today. Do what makes you happy regardless of what other people think; after all, they will still judge you. You should pursue your happiness on your own terms and with your own actions since that alone is sufficient reason to do so.

Do you have those days that although you didn't do much things, but still feel extremely exhausted? But why?

Love to hear your thoughts👇

You know why you feel so tired 'though you haven't done much of physical work today? It's because you keep on running within your head; you are chasing some thoughts within your mind that have been meandering around there for days now. You are so busy—mentally—to the max that you can't even hear other's words of advice; but I hope this time, you will listen intently.

I want you to rest tonight—and when I say "rest", it doesn't only mean you have to lay in bed, close your eyes, and fall asleep; then tomorrow, you will do the same old routine. Include your mind on the rest that you will do; try to stop over-analyzing things, it won't help you. You deserve to be free from and to break that prison cell within your head—I know, and I believe, you can also create a home for you inside of it.
