Thi IELTS writing đừng nên dùng những cụm như kiểu “I opine that… / I am of the conviction that…” trong mở bài nữa trời ơi, biết tại sao hông? Vì mới đọc vô đã thấy thí sinh này có hơi hướng “cố gắng thể hiện” thì dễ bị g.hét nha huhu. Mình đi thi toàn ghi đơn giản “I believe/I would argue that…” nhiêu đó thôi đó, hoặc quá lắm là “My belief is that…”. Mà vẫn Wri 8.5 đó 😜.

Những cấu trúc dẫn nếu bạn có học thuộc từ trước thì cũng nên ở mức vừa phải nghe mượt tai, chứ đừng nên học những câu dẫn quá khó để rồi từ vựng dùng trong bài thì sai collocation liên tục/dùng sai ngữ cảnh. Giám khảo vẫn tập trung vào ý tưởng của bạn nhiều hơn và mình cần tạo cho người chấm một cảm giác đọc tới đâu dễ hiểu và mượt tới đó, đừng cố gắng “khoe” bằng list từ vựng C1-C2 gì đó nha! Đọc thử 2 phiên bản sau:

🍀 REVIEW NGÀY THI 19/04/2024 IDP PHAN BỘI CHÂU (HÀ NỘI)

Đợt rồi mình có ra thủ đô ăn cưới bạn mình, sẵn tiện nghỉ lễ với thử thi ngoài đó xem có hợp vía mình không, thì tính ra cũng gọi là có hợp nhẹ. Với một phần cũng thi để cập nhật lại xu hướng ra đề của IELTS để về còn báo cho học viên mình :)). Hơi mắc cười một tí là skill mình tự tin hơn thì điểm lại flop hơn skill mình vô thi ngồi type rất chill (mình thi trên máy tính nhá các bạn). Cũng có được một sự gặt hái là Writing đã tăng từ 8.0 lên 8.5.

🎧 Listening:

- Về độ khó thì không khác những cuốn Cam gần đây lắm, tốc độ nói cũng vừa phải; nhưng các thông tin thì chỉ được nói qua 1 lần và không có sự check lại từ đối phương trong đoạn hội thoại —> bạn cần nghe và bắt thông tin nhanh. Có paraphrase nhiều nên sẽ phản ánh đúng khả năng của thí sinh hơn —> hạn chế khả năng làm bài theo mẹo.
- Các dạng xuất hiện với tần suất cao các bạn cần ôn kĩ: multiple choice (cho 5 đáp án chọn 2); matching; multiple choice (part 3, chọn 1 đáp án đúng trong 3 lựa chọn)

📖 Reading:

- Độ khó tương tự các cuốn Cam gần đây, nhưng mình cảm thấy Passage 1 có vẻ lại khó nuốt hơn P2 vì nội dung đọc cũng khá là lạ (chủ đè: liệu một số lỗi về thiết kế của đàn violin lại tạo nên âm thanh cực hay của nó như hiện giờ không?)
- Có các dạng khó các bạn cần lưu ý: matching headings, matching information, multiple choice (4 đáp án chọn 1)

✍🏻 Writing:

- WT1: Maps of an industrial site converted into a housing estate (theo dạng Current Plan và Proposed Plan chứ không phải so sánh giữa quá khứ và hiện tại)
- WT2: Students should pay the full cost of their own study because university education benefits the individual rather than society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Về kỹ năng này thì mình làm task 1 tầm 25’ còn task 2 mất tầm 30’ (20’ viết draft 1 và 10’ chỉnh lại cách dùng từ với ngữ pháp cho trau chuốt hơn). Mình sẽ có thêm các bài chia sẻ khác về kỹ năng này trong các bài viết tiếp theo vì mình nghiệm ra một số điều đã làm khác đi so với những lần thi trước để tạo nên sự đột phá hơn cho kỹ năng này. Bạn com.ment để khi có bài mới mình sẽ thông báo cho mọi người biết nha ^^. Mọi người có muốn mình chia sẻ bài mình đã viết cho Task 2 khum? Mình nhớ được mỗi task 2 haha.

🗣️ Speaking:

P1: House/Spending time alone
P2: Describe a party
P3: Festivals/International events

Mình cảm thấy làm khá ổn ở P1 và P2 (performance tương tự các lần thi trước), còn P3 thì do mình không quan tâm lắm tới 2 chủ đề này nên có ít trải nghiệm để nói hơn, nên không nhớ được ví dụ cụ thể để phân tích và đào sâu vào câu trả lời. So với những lần thi Speaking trước khi mình đạt 8.5-9.0, thì lần này các câu trả lời ở P3 có phần ngắn hơn. Vì vậy, kinh nghiệm rút ra là nếu bạn mong muốn đạt 8.5+ cho kỹ năng này thì phải phân tích và trả lời câu hỏi một cách chi tiết + minh họa bằng ví dụ, còn nếu những ai nhắm đến 7.0-8.0 thì part 3 vẫn có thể trả lời kiểu nêu lý do chung chung vẫn ổn. Lời khuyên này dựa trên tiêu chí là bạn đã có phát âm ở mức 9.0 nhen^^. Nếu phát âm của bạn chưa ở mức thoải mái như người bản xứ thì tất nhiên bạn phải lấy điểm cao ở các tiêu chí khác để bù lại.

Một số câu hỏi P3 mình còn nhớ ra được:
-Do you think festivals nowadays in your country have lost their traditional values?
-How does a person feel when they represent a country at international events?
-Do you think when a person represents a country, they feel more proud for themselves or for their country? And why so?

Tâm lý hôm đó mình đi thi cả 4 kỹ năng nói chung cũng thong thả vì mình thi trong tâm lý trải nghiệm hội đồng thi mới thôi chứ không áp lực điểm số.
