Important Announcement Regarding Visa Arrangements for Participants from Bangladesh & Pakistan
Dear Delegation Representatives,
First and foremost, we would like to express our sincerest apologies regarding the visa arrangements for participants from Bangladesh and Pakistan.
As previously communicated, we had partnered with a visa agency that assured us they could process visas at an estimated cost of USD 60–70 per applicant. Following their instructions, all required documents were collected by 12 July and submitted to the agency by 14 July. We were subsequently informed that everything was in order, and we believed the applications were being processed.
Unfortunately, on Wednesday, 29 July, the team were informed that this arrangement could no longer proceed. We have since confirmed that the applications were never submitted to the Embassy under the promised process. As a result, the original visa arrangement is no longer available, and all applications prepared under this process have effectively been cancelled.
We understand how disappointing and frustrating this news is, and we sincerely apologise for the uncertainty and inconvenience this has caused. Over the past few days, we have been working continuously to find the best possible way forward for all affected teams.
Our Solution: Hybrid Division
Given the limited time remaining and the uncertainty surrounding new visa applications, our primary recommendation is for affected teams to switch to the Hybrid Division, allowing them to participate in Hanoi ABP 2026 without the risk of further visa complications.
Registration Fee: USD 100 per speaker. (This fee will go towards IA funding, and hybrid facilities fee. Online teams are not being charged for overhead costs of offline facilities and privileges.)
Teams will compete online while remaining fully eligible in the tournament.
Hybrid Division will unfortunately only be made available for speakers, and not for institutional adjudicators.
The N-1 adjudicator requirement for online teams will be waived.
If you are an Invited Adjudicator and have been made an offer, the CAP and Organising Committee will be in touch with you to assist you in your visa arrangements immediately.
While we understand this is different from your original plan, we believe it is the safest and most reliable way to ensure your participation.
For Teams Who Still Wish to Attend In-Person
For delegations/contingents that are still willing to pursue an in-person participation despite the remaining uncertainty, we have identified two alternative visa services. Please note that the Organising Committee cannot guarantee the success of either option. If you wish to try, please contact Organising Committee for the option.
Option A
Visa Service Fee: USD 350 per applicant
Lower cost, but the approval rate remains uncertain.
Option B
Visa Service Fee: USD 600 per applicant
Considerably higher success rate based on previous cases, though still without any guarantee of approval.
Reminder about Scholarship Applications
A gentle reminder to teams that Scholarships are available to both in-person and online teams. You may find the Scholarship Application form here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdHc_yqSad_2O34vyq_mB_6PitOUdjkfLHd8vFgodl3qcevfQ/viewform
The Scholarship Policy can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ytesv2_fboDiBlx3-6JOvYYzy5rgrWZEZNGWnlHyDe8/edit?usp=sharing
We recognise that none of these alternatives are ideal, and we deeply regret that we are unable to provide the original visa arrangement that had been promised. We kindly ask all affected delegations to let us know your preferred option as soon as possible so that we can support you with the necessary next steps.
Once again, we sincerely apologise for this situation and thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued trust. We remain committed to supporting every delegation in the best way we can and hope to welcome your teams to Hanoi ABP 2026, whether online or in person.
Kind regards,
Hanoi ABP 2026
Organising Committee
