Like last week I made a very big transfer of money investing in myself and my future

Independence has it's own timing. If we want the child to feel sure of himself, we won't try and force it. Forcing children to be independent when they aren't there yet messes with their confidence and can lead to a regression. Honour the incremental unfolding of the child's independence.
