So you make a new friend in the beautiful city that is Hanoi, equally as adventurous and curious as you and you're hungry...where do you go?? With all the best places hidden down little alleys you can get lost in a moment. But alas, someone has complied a map of all such places here, and it's so useful, I literally use it everyday! Save save save!!

It's not just a coffee...this is strong as hell, cheap as chips, knock you on your ass or send you to space coffee!!! Mmmmm
An absolute lunchtime feast!!! Nam Coun aka rice paper spring rolls! My favourite meal by our wonderful chef Linh! This is why I never leave the flat....Now can you see why I'm staying an extra month?? Haha
So I've been in my volunteer programme for 5 weeks now and I was supposed to leave (aka original plan) 3 days ago! Oops!!😜 However I love it here and life is so easy and comfortable I don't want to leave!
Let me tell you about a day in a life as a volunteer teacher here in Hanoi! I wake up in my bunk, in a room I share with 2 others. There are people chatting around the kitchen table, eating and all sharing, we have the same passion to teach and we teach each other new tricks. 🤓
Today, I took this class at 9.30am on the subject of Jobs from a book called Vocabulary In Use, Pre-Intermediate, and it's a 2 hour class with a break. My presentation was already made by another volunteer who taught the subject before me so no planning needed at all, my job here is just to basically be white, talk clearly and engage the students. 💃🏼
Then it's lunch time. We have our own chef, Linh, who's an awesome cook and yesterday I decided I want to have her cook all my meals for the rest of my life 😝
After lunch I went with 4 other volunteers to the cinema across the road. For around $3 you get your ticket and free popcorn and a drink!!! Watched The Mechanic...not the best tbh!
After the cinema it's a quick change into teacher clothes and off to school 30 minutes away, to teach a 1.5hour class to 7-10 year olds. Luckily yesterday I only had to perform a speaking test so I had no planning to do whatsoever!! My fave!!
After school it's dinner and usually a big feast for 10 of us and I love to share my music and turn it into a disco dinning experience! Haha! 😎 and finally before bed we all either play cards, just chat or watch a movie together or sometimes alone. And bed is usually around 11pm! Done!! 🤗
I honestly love it here and I've decided I'm staying for another 3 weeks until after my 30th birthday!! I've made amazing friends and the students are amazing.
I'm so glad I got my experience this way instead of paying for one of those expensive TEFL programmes. Oh, by the way I am doing my TEFL course online too Now I've just gota get over being scared to leave and find a job and tackle the REAL teaching English abroad world!

I stopped my motorbike after I saw an information sign of the side of the road. As we read the sign about these Seal looking rocks you'll find on the Ha Giang loop, I was distracted by hundreds of mating dragonflies above my head!
My eyes followed them across the valley and then I noticed this picture. These are Hmong tribe children. Their families are extremely poor and they live secluded, far up in the mountains. Too far away from any school. Too far from fresh water and basic sanitation.
From the moment they can walk they must help their families to make what little money then can, here they collect pumpkins from the land. I love this photo, catching a quick glimpse of them actually just being children!
This is basically the running cometary going through my head every day whilst I drive around Hanoi...spot on! 🇻🇳🏍🙌🏼😂
