If you’re serious about eliminating animal foods from your diet, please inform yourself, listen to the other side of the debate as well. Not everything is what a celebrity told you or you saw on Netflix…
This week, I’m headed to Egypt for —the UN Climate Change Conference—to discuss the role of livestock in supporting nutrition and sustainability goals.
The relationship between livestock production and climate change is hotly debated, with some going so far as to call for the dramatic reduction or even elimination of animal agriculture.
For millions of families in low-income countries, livestock provide multiple benefits —such as food security, community, and a livable income—which buffer against climate and other shocks.
Though some animal products are produced more sustainably and ethically than others, the fact remains that they are all uniquely nourishing, containing proteins, vitamins, and minerals either not found in plant foods or difficult to obtain by consuming plants alone. And fake meat alternatives are not nutritionally equal, plus have their own sustainability concerns and ethical dilemmas - they are not a "no death" solution.
Well-managed livestock have the potential to restore soil organic matter, sequester carbon, support small-scale producers, revive rural economies, and reduce human dependency on highly centralized chemical agriculture. Let's move our global livestock sector more in this direction instead of taxing farmers, planting mono crops of non-native trees on current grazing land, and shaming people for consuming nutritious meat.
We need better recognition of the nuance in meat and livestock production instead of reducing cattle to "evil GHG emitters" when there's a lot more to the picture.

Just received beef tallow from Lam D**g, Vietnam. Grateful for these people who care about using traditional fats, ❤️ nothing goes to waste!
The amount of vegetable oils people are consuming (it’s hidden in everything!) is one of the major causes of modern diseases.
Let’s go back to the traditional way of eating, more natural foods, less factory made ‘junk’. 🙏

Meat has a lot of benefits, but the superfood is organ meats. Choose grass fed, organic if possible.
La carne tiene mucho beneficios, pero los superpoderes los tienen los órganos. Elige de pastura, orgánico en lo posible.
Organs are one of the biggest superpowers of an animal-based diet. 🦸♂️
…and if you are just eating muscle meat, you are MISSING OUT.
Just a couple of ounces of liver per week are going to give you a TON of nutrients that you aren't going to get from ribeyes. 🥩
This comes with amazing physical and mental benefits like increased energy, better sleep, healthier skin, better mood, increased libido… the list goes on!
Fresh or desiccated doesn't matter... just don't go another day without experiencing the amazing effects for yourself! 💪

What do you eat when you travel? 🍴
Summer is here and people are traveling. They're braving full flights which also means they're trying to sift through the meager options in the airport food courts or dropping $15 on a mediocre in-flight meal. Someone was recently complaining to me that their flight didn't offer a non-vegetarian option.
Look, I get it. You're stressed out on the plane, maybe it's a long flight, and you want something to nibble on. Is it too much to ask for something healthy? Something that approaches Primal?
Yes, yes it is. It's not going to happen on standard flights. Unless you want to pay big money. The days of high quality food in the sky are gone, at least in America. They're serving microwaved food if you're lucky or shelf-stable garbage that's been sitting at the terminal for years if you're not.
There's a better way to deal with food at airports and on planes: don't have any.
When I travel domestic, I simply don't eat. I use it as an opportunity to fast. I'll drink water and usually have some coffee, but I'm not thinking about food. I'd rather not pore over ingredients lists, ask the kitchen what kind of oil they use in the dressings, or read online reviews of every single eatery in the entire complex. No, when I'm at the airport I use it as an opportunity to drink coffee and water, not eat, and alternate between reading and lots of slow movement (walking).
If I'm traveling longer than 10 hours, I might bring along a snack—but "snack" can be almost anything. You don't have to rely on trail mix and crackers. You can bring beef jerky. You can pack some hard cheese. You can even roast a chicken and bring some leg quarters with you.
My point is that you don't have to buy into the framing of the airport. The airport tries to use the same psychological tactics as amusement parks—they limit what you can bring in and jack up the prices once you're inside the doors. I don't blame them for doing it. It's probably great for business. But you don't have to accept the situation. You can transcend it, either by not eating at all or by bringing hearty, nutrient-dense shelf-stable food like meat (dried or fresh) and cheese.
How do you handle food at the airport and on the plane?

I saw this today and I loved it!
It’s so true…The Ingalls lived in a farm, grew their own food, walked to school, the girls were super healthy, and the parents so loving and strong! (Although Mary got blind in the end, can’t remember if it was an accident or what…🥹)
Do we really think we have better lives now? Let’s re-introduce Traditional wisdom to our modern lives and see how great that could be!

It’s important to understand that ‘morality and animal rights’ is a completely different subject to ‘human nutrition and health’. If you choose to avoid animal foods, you HAVE TO supplement. It’s your choice, but please don’t put your children at risk by not giving them a variety of foods.
A strictly plant based diet can lead to serious nutritional deficiencies.
We can’t obtain sufficient true vitamin A from plant foods, nor can most of us produce adequate amounts of vitamin D from the sun alone. Vitamin B12 is not absorbed from plant sources, and modern soy products actually increase the body’s need for B12. A person close to me once said: ’Oh, after 40, you’ll see that everything goes down hill’. I Was very angry at this statement, and I decided this was not going to happen to me. But how many times we agree with other people, and those statements become our reality?
Other things that we may accept as ‘facts’: (but they are just beliefs)
- You cannot lose weight after having children.
- It’s normal to get sick after certain age.
- It’s difficult to become fit when we are older.

Your table becomes a collection of glasses when you go to a wine pairing event and you are not the drinking type 😅 But I did drink the Prosecco and the food was delicious 😋
How to enjoy and plan for your meals when you’re trying to lose or maintain your weight? (And health in general):
FASTING! I fasted for 24h before this event. Fasting is not about starving yourself, it’s about planning your meals, choosing nutritious food when it’s time to eat, giving your body time to digest and get rid of unwanted cells (and stored fat!) Your body can only do this when you’re not busy eating.
