[LITERAL TRANSLATION]
__________________________
The process of converting from one source language to another is generally referred to as translation. That linguistic transfer necessitates translators’ ability to translate as well as a translation plan. The literal translation is one of the translation procedures described here.
What do you mean by literal translation? The literal translation is a translation method in which the transformed SL grammatical structures are equivalent to the closest structures of TL, but the vocabulary is translated in the most common and singular sense, out of context but still closely following the meaning. It is used for pre-translation to identify the problem. It's the most basic sort of translation, and it's how most automatic translation software approaches translation.
For example:
This programme is sponsored by Walls.
→ Translate: Chương trình này do hãng Walls tài trợ.
She is deaf to all his advice.
→ Translate: Cô ta lờ đi tất cả những lời khuyên của anh ta.
Advantages of Direct Translation: The fact that literal translation is the most basic type of translation does not negate its value. The literal translation is advantageous for a variety of reasons: It is the quickest sort of translation service, reducing translation project turnaround time. It translates text into the target language while keeping simple and plain. It ensures that no crucial material is left out of the original article. Because the literal translation is easier, cutting-edge translation technology can be used effectively.
Because of the aforementioned advantages of literal translation, it is the preferred translation solution for many firms that use basic, impersonal text. Legal documents, technical text, and step-by-step instructions are all excellent candidates for literal translation. For example, if a corporation wants to translate a significant volume of dry, legal text from the source language, literal translation assures that the papers are not altered in any manner from the original (which could make them contestable) and that they are translated swiftly and accurately.
Having issues with literal translation: Because the biggest challenges with literal translation emerge from idioms and context, literal translations have difficulty with more personal information. Because of this, the literal translation is particularly unsuitable for consumer-facing information or content intended to inspire or persuade.
