We’re so excited to share that Coral Reef Academy has officially adopted Learning Without Tears, and Mat Man is already a hit across our classrooms!

Mat Man is a hands on, multisensory tool that helps students build body awareness, pre writing skills, and letter formation, all through play. Students build him piece by piece (circle head, curved ears, lines for arms and legs) while practicing following directions, sequencing, and fine motor coordination.

What we love most is how flexible it is. We've seen our youngest students giggling as they place his hands and feet, and our older students working just as enthusiastically to build him from the poster model. Multisensory learning that meets every student where they are, no matter their age or ability!

Coral Reef Academy is seeking a compassionate and student-centered Speech and Language Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team on a part-time basis. This role supports students in developing communication skills that enhance learning, confidence, and social connection within our nurturing school environment.

🟢 Position: Part-Time Speech & Language Pathologist
🟢 Location: St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands
🟢 Start Date: September 2026

Key Responsibilities Include:
• Providing speech and language screenings, evaluations, and therapy
• Collaborating with teachers and support staff on student goals
• Developing individualized treatment plans and progress documentation
• Supporting an inclusive, student-focused learning environment

Ideal Candidates Will Bring:
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent)
• Active licensure or eligibility to practice
• Experience in educational or pediatric settings
• A passion for helping students thrive

At Coral Reef Academy, we honor the history, strength, and achievements of the disability community all month long.

This month is celebrated in July to mark a very important day: the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 1990, a law that helped make sure every person is treated with fairness and respect.
