Money Matters BVI MONEY MATTER BVI is the financial literacy education program at the BVI Financial Services Commission.

Financial literacy at the Commission functions out of the Policy Development and External Relations Division. MONEY MATTERS BVI was launched by the BVI Financial Services Commission (the Commission) in 2011. The principal mandate for the program is laid out in the Financial Services Commission Act, 2001 as, to ‘adopt measures as may be necessary to appropriately inform the general public on its functions and on matters relating to or affecting any financial services business’. The program seeks to develop and implement initiatives that motivate BVI residents to achieve a level of financial literacy and financial education which permits them to make sound decisions regarding spending, saving, protecting and managing their money in line with their short- and long-term goals.

Today, we were pleased to lead a session on financial literacy to the 2026 cohort of college students of Tomorrow's Leaders Internship Programme, organized by BVI Finance.

Before heading back to campus life, students were engaged in critical thinking about the skills they have and the choices they make that can have a positive financial impact on their lives, through saving, budgeting, Investing, and understanding credit and debt, including some money-smart festival savings tips.
