💛💜 Su***de Prevention Month | Supporting Mental Health at PHSU BVI

As part of Su***de Prevention Month, our PHSU BVI students welcomed Judy Haycraft as a guest speaker for an important conversation on mental health, wellness, and the challenges students may face throughout their academic journey.

Students explored practical techniques for managing stress, protecting their mental well-being, recognizing when support may be needed, and building healthy habits that extend beyond the classroom and into everyday life.

At PHSU BVI, we are committed to creating a supportive community where students feel encouraged to speak openly, seek help when needed, and prioritize their mental well-being. A major milestone for our PHSU BVI students! 🩺✨

Our first cohort officially began their first day of clinical rotations at Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital this September 2026.

From the classroom to the clinical setting, this marks an exciting next chapter as our students put their knowledge into practice, gain hands-on experience, and continue their journey toward becoming future physicians.

We’re proud to see our first cohort taking this important step right here in the British Virgin Islands. 💙

Help Train Future Doctors in the BVI

PHSU BVI is seeking adults to serve as Standardized/Simulated Patients (SPs), helping medical students develop strong communication, compassion and patient-care skills.

SPs may portray routine exams, medical conditions or patient conversations. No experience or college degree is required paid training is provided.

What we offer:

Flexible, part-time assignments
In-person and virtual opportunities
Starting pay of $15 per hour
Paid training and ongoing support

Applicants must be 18 or older, dependable, professional, comfortable speaking English and open to feedback. All backgrounds and health statuses are welcome.
