BVI Mountain Bike Club

Sunday Funday! Inviting all members of the community on Tortola to join the BVI Cycling Federation cyclists for a fun afternoon social ride. We will be meeting at the Road Town ferry carpark, across from Pusser’s at 3 p.m. Free Entry. Bring your own bike and helmet. With four distances to choose from - from 3 km to 30 km... there's an ideal ride for everybody!

This Sunday, May 29th, the BVI MTB Club will be hosting a general group ride in place of our usual race. We will also be offering a basic biking maintenance and handling workshop. The goal here is to encourage participation at all ages and riding levels, as well as to share knowledge with our members on fundamental bike maintenance and riding technique.

Start time: 7:30 a.m. sharp. The ride itself will be a single Beef Island Loop - starting at Trellis to Little Mountain, then back through the old road and trails. 8.5km, so approx. 25-30 minutes to complete. This is intended to be a fun ride - to be ridden at whatever pace you enjoy!

Whether you're an active cycling enthusiast or you're just starting out, there are sure to be a few useful tidbits to increase your confidence and add to your overall biking knowledge.

Helmets must be worn and this will be a self-supported ride - please bring your own reusable water bottle/pack. There is no entry fee and as per usual, we plan to follow it up with a post-ride breakfast at Jeremy's Kitchen. Hoping to see as many of you as possible out on Sunday!

Calling all VG MTB RIDERS!! Race on Tortola this Sunday... There is a 6:00am Speedy's ferry to Trellis Bay. Please let us know ahead of time if you are coming and need transportation to/from the race. We will do our best to coordinate rides. Return ferry at 1:00pm.

Calling all cyclists!!! Anyone and everyone in the BVI with a bike is welcome! Courses for all ages - from the youngest kiddos to the most 'seasoned' riders! Don't want to ride off-road? No problem: join the youth ride on the safe and relatively smooth old airport road. So come on out and bring the whole family! Lots of prizes and a delicious post-race brunch at Jeremy's Kitchen (not incl. in registration fee)

Step-by-step course directions:
- Start: Trellis Bay (intersection to Loose Mongoose & Jeremy's Kitchen) at 7:00 a.m.

- Head west towards bridge, turn RIGHT before bridge onto Little Mountain Road

- Take Little Mountain loop counter-clockwise (turn RIGHT), one loop and return to main road

- Turn RIGHT, cross bridge then immediate RIGHT towards prison

- Uphill past prison, then continue along road past Little Bay and Lambert, then RIGHT turn uphill towards ridge road (intersection at top of Josiah's Bay)

- At Ridge Rd., turn LEFT downhill towards East End Police Station

- At Police Station, turn RIGHT onto Blackburn Hwy. continue to HLSCC (college)

- Turn RIGHT into college drive, up to roundabout at main building and return to main road
 (CAUTION: stay in the MIDDLE of cattle grate at entrance and exit!)
- Turn LEFT onto Blackburn Hwy (main rd.) and return eastbound to Trellis

- Finish line will be just off main road on gravel access road to Jeremy’s
