Cruising life really is different. This morning, I did laundry onboard (with a bucket, a plunger, and a 5 gallon version of a salad spinner), then hung everything up to dry. Later, two new arrivals stopped by in their dinghy, I grabbed their line, and we had a nice conversation. After they left, I realized we’d been conversing over Steve’s boxers. No one seemed to notice or care.

This is what it looks like when you only have access to a car, Costco, and other big box American stores about once every six months. Total elapsed time from leaving the boat to having everything unpackaged (no cardboard!), portioned, vacuum sealed (meat and cheese), and stowed into various nooks and crannies: 12 hours, 10 minutes.
