International Bass Festival of Montevideo 2013, Concerts, Masterclasses, Expositions and Conferences. Festival Internacional de Contrabajo de Montevideo reunirá a algunos de los mejores contrabajistas del mundo en el evento más importante relacionado con el contrabajo que jamás se ha llevado a cabo en Uruguay. Durante dos días recitales y clases magistrales serán ofrecidas por los artistas invitados a todos los niños y jóvenes que forman parte del "Sistema de Orquestas Juveniles e Infantiles del Uruguay", a los contrabajistas regionales que vendrán de los países más cercanos y público en general. Las celebraciones se iniciaron ya en Montevideo con motivo de la eleccion de Montevideo como Capital de la Cultura de América Latina de este año. Esta es la segunda vez que la capital uruguaya se le ha concedido el honor, la primera fue en 1996. A lo largo del año Montevideo verá festivales internacionales de jazz, tango, cine y de diseño, entre muchas otras manifestaciones culturales. Festival Internacional de Contrabajo de Montevideo will gather some of the best bass players of the globe in the biggest event related to the double bass that has ever take place in Uruguay. During two days, recitals and masterclasses will be offered by the guest artists to all the kids and young people who are part of the “Sistema de Orquestas Juveniles e Infantiles del Uruguay”, to to the regional bass players who will come from the nearest countries and general public. Celebrations were launched already in Montevideo to mark the city as this year’s Latin America Culture Capital. This is the second time the Uruguayan capital has been afforded the honour, the first being in 1996. Throughout the year Montevideo will see international jazz, tango, cinema and design festivals, among a host of other celebratory cultural events.
