I had a conversation with a young nurse last week that's stuck with me.
She was telling me about her anxiety, her stress, her gut issues — and then she said something I hear more and more from nurses just starting out: "How do you stay so healthy? I want to learn from you."
And it hit me — this isn't just her story. It's a pattern I see constantly in the younger nurses around me. So many bright, capable women carrying anxiety, stress, and gut struggles before they've even hit 30 — often just accepting it as "part of the job" or "part of being busy."
Here's what I tell them: none of that has to be your normal. Your body is talking to you, and there's a way to actually listen — through sleep, stress patterns, nutrition, and the small daily habits that add up over time. That's the foundation of what I do now, through a functional medicine lens paired with 28+ years of nursing experience.
If this sounds like you — or someone you know — I'd love to hear: what's the one thing you wish someone taught you about your health earlier?
