We enjoyed a Winter Wildergarden day this past Monday morning with a handful of children. Our time included some familiar songs, animal movements, ninja balancing and an icy mud kitchen at the Hobbit house on our hill. We finished off with some nature valentines.
It was a lot of fun having my little adventurers with me and a couple younger visitors too. Planning on having a larger group on the 24th! Looking forward to it.

Our last Wildergarden day for the season was a lot of fun! We enjoyed learning about birds and seeing some hawks and owls. At our Wildergarden space the children discovered a strong hanging vine and enjoyed swinging on it for a good while. A few of them created their own little "pond" and some went exploring with Bluejay. Then some of the girls worked on gluing feathers on their masks to make a bird mask. I love watching them discover through play and will really miss them. I will email the Wildergarden families if I can figure a way to have some winter Wildergarden times through our three months off (either at my place or the campsite)! Thank you to my Leafhoppers for a wonderful first quarter!

The Wildergarden: a place to be carefree and learn the way children were designed to learn! Sorry this post is a week late btw... This past week we enjoyed learning archery, making some of our own bow and arrows, mixing up natural finger paints and nature journaling, and celebrating Judah's 17th birthday. I am really gonna miss this sweet bunch of children on our winter break though I hope to keep in touch with all my families in case I do anything during the winter months! Each and every one of my Leafhoppers are so dear to me and I have enjoyed these past three months incredibly! It has brought out my child-like nature and made realize how much I love being with this age group! Looking forward to our time together tomorrow. *Remember to dress your child in layers and rubber boots cause they love the creek (change of clothes in their bags so they won't be cold if they get wet). Love you all! Leaf

This Wildergarden we enjoyed sculpting or just playing with clay I had brought back (and over the months dehydrated) from the bay. They were fascinated by the dark color of it. We also interacted with rhythm and dancing with flags with Blue Jay on the guitar. Leopard (Ellie) showed us how to hang from the log and hold onto trees that most could never attempt to climb (she is strong!!). Then we all enjoyed our time at the Fall Fest while I (Leaf) painted several faces. It was great getting to meet some of my Leafhoppers parents or grandparents!
