Thursday May 7th we had our Agriculture/FFA Banquet for Zavalla ISD. It was the first one in quite some time, but it wont be the last. We plan to get bigger and better as the years go on. We had about 50 people show up for food, auctions and awards. It was a great success. Thank you to everyone who came to support the great kids of Zavalla FFA/Ag.

Zavalla FFA was well represented at the McGee Bend District Convention last night. We had Jace Christoph competing in the talent show with his "sit down" comedy routine. while he did not win, he represented Zavalla well and provided lots of laughs for the audience. We had Ethan Courtney representing us as a voting delegate along with Paisley Nerren, Lane Jarman and Arissa Mettlen in attendance

Zavalla FFA/Ag will be hosting the Zavalla Agriculture Banquet on May 7th in the Zavalla ISD Cafeteria. There will be a silent auction for several student built projects that include wood racks, fire pits, hay rings and more. Any student who participated in FFA Events or the youth fair this year will get in free, any other guests are $20 each. Please RSVP and pay by April 22nd so that we can order enough food. Dinner will be ribeye sandwiches with baked beans and potato salad. Thank you for your support.

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the youth of Angelina County and of Zavalla FFA. Nearly $800,0000 was spent on 249 projects shown by students from all over Angelina County. Special thanks to Angelina Excavating, NP Enterprises, Commercial Bank, TTJ Equipment and the Angelina County Fair Buyers Pool for purchasing projects from Zavalla FFA members, Paisley, Jace and Lane.

Congratulations to Paisley she was class champion heavyweight steer. Please come support her and all the other Zavalla FFA kids at the auction tomorrow, cant make it no worries visit the Angelina County Fair page to learn how to "add on" to their projects.

Students of the Zavalla FFA have been hard at work this week at the Angelina County Fair Our students have a lot to be proud of. They have worked hard and it shows. They have done a fantastic job of representing Zavalla all week long. The week started out with the trailer build off on Tuesday where the Zavalla team of Garon, Matt, Draven and Ethan took home 6th place overall and were 3rd place in the county.
Next up was the cooking event where Jace had a pie and recieved a blue ribbon. After that we moved into the ag mechanics show where 5 projects from Garon, Ethan, Jessie, Carson, Arissa and Kaige all recieved blue ribbons and high praise from the judges.

Right after ag mechanics we moved into showing animals where Jace was 3rd in his class with his goat and 4th in class with his lamb. Lane was 8th in class with his lamb and 6th in class with his pig. This evening at 5pm we still have Paisley showing her steer.

Between all this showing we also had Autumn show her drawing, Gavin showed his photograph and Aiden and Draven showed their arts and crafts projects all recieving blue ribbons.

Please either come out tomorrow at 4pm and support these kids at the auction or congratulate them on a job well done when you see them out and about.
