👀 Homeschool moms — do you ever feel like learning at home just isn’t working?
🙋‍♀️ I know I did! Some days the table feels like a battle zone, and it’s hard to keep the kids engaged.

That’s why with Meraki, we’ve started shifting the way we think about “school.” Learning doesn’t just have to happen at home — it can happen anywhere. 🌟

This morning, while waiting at the doctor’s office, we pulled out these fun letter nut puzzles 🥜✨ Not only do they help with fine motor skills (fitting the pieces together) but they also turn into a playful way to practice letter recognition and build confidence.

🎲 We even turn it into a game — “Can you find the nut that matches your name?” or “How fast can you build the ABC line-up?” The kids don’t even realize they’re learning because it feels like play.

✨ What an AMAZING first day at Meraki! ✨

We jumped right into a day full of hands-on learning, movement, creativity, and connection. Here’s a peek at what we got up to:

🍎 Morning warm-up – snack + independent choice time (puzzles, workbooks, manipulatives)
☀ Circle time – date, day, weather (hot and getting hotter!), time check, and animal yoga to get moving
🎯 Outdoor group game – a hopscotch remix for learning on the move
📖 Storytime – The Jungle Book
🥪 Lunch + recess
🦋 Main Lesson (Jigsaw) – one group explored butterflies, the other ants. Everyone learned both topics through listening, sharing, and teaching each other.
🐜 Hands-on stations – Ants in the Pants game + color-changing sand with animal manipulatives
🖌 All About Me Posters – getting to know each other through art
💬 Closing circle – highlights, gratitude, and open-ended play before pickup

The kids were curious, engaged, active, and kind—and they went home with full hearts and busy minds. 🧠❤️

Need a few hours to run errands, get work done, or simply take a breath while your child plays, learns, and socializes? We’ve got you covered!

Here’s how our Day Passes work:
• If you’d like to join us on a Monday, let us know by Thursday of the week before.
• If you’d like to join us on a Wednesday, let us know by Monday at 5 PM.
• Your first visit is only $15!
• Passes purchased in August can be used any time throughout the year.

Location perks: We’re tucked right between 164th & Western and Santa Fe—close to Press, Homeland, and Walmart—making it easy to run errands while your child enjoys their time with us.

Bonus: We are also proud BrainTree vendors!

Meraki Kids is our social, secular drop-off program designed to give kids a safe, welcoming, and engaging space to play, create, and connect. Our focus is on hands-on activities, imaginative play, and community building—all without religious instruction. It’s a place where kids can just be kids, and parents can enjoy a few hours of freedom knowing their child is in great hands.

✨ We’re doing another swap with Meraki! ✨

This time, the theme is Homeschool Swap Day — a chance for families to share and find books, school supplies, learning games, and anything that supports children’s education. 📚✏️

📍 Location: Channing Unitarian Universalist Church

How it works: Bring what you want, take what you want, or come empty-handed and leave with what you need. It’s all about supporting community with open hearts and helping families learn and grow together!
