Hampton Grocers has recalled 8oz pouches due to possible Salmonella contamination from an ingredient called organic moringa powder. No illnesses have been reported, but the product was sold online through Amazon and the Hampton Grocers website from October 2025 through August 12, 2026.

If you have it, don't eat it — throw it away or return it for a refund.

You've been told to feed your baby when they show early hunger cues, but what does that actually look like?

Early cues (feed now):
Rooting — turning head, opening mouth, moving lips
Hands to mouth, lip smacking
Stirring, stretching, quietly alert after a nap

By the time baby is crying, that's a late hunger cue. A crying baby is harder to latch and harder to calm — and you're both more stressed before the feed even starts.

Watch for the early signs. Feed then. It makes a difference.

You were probably told to "Breastfeed every 2-3 hours". Most parents think that means 2-3 hours between feeds. It actually means from the start of one feed to the start of the next.

So if a feed takes 30 minutes, you may only have an hour or two before you're feeding again. In the early days with a newborn, that's normal.

Feed on early hunger cues, and wake baby if it's been 3 hours during the day. Once baby is back to birth weight, longer stretches at night are okay.

If you're using Silverette ni**le covers and still having pain — they may be making things worse, not better.

Silverettes are marketed as a healing tool, but worn continuously they trap moisture against the ni**le. Just like a wet bandage breaks down skin, that trapped moisture can macerate and damage tissue — making soreness turn into a real wound.

More importantly: ni**le pain is almost never just a ni**le problem. It's usually a latch problem. Covering it up doesn't fix what's causing it.

Breastfeeding has real, documented benefits — for babies and for moms. But here's what doesn't get said enough: you don't have to white-knuckle your way through it to get there.

If it's painful, if your baby isn't gaining, if you're exhausted and not sure what's normal — that's not just part of the deal. That's a sign something needs to be looked at.
