Today, February 11, marks the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. As we celebrate and recognize the contributions of women around the world to scientific advancement, it’s important to reflect on the progress still needed. According to UNESCO, in some countries fewer than 1 in 10 women hold leadership roles in science.

As the field of STEM continues to evolve, we cannot overstate the impact of women who lead, organize, research, and drive innovation across disciplines.

Over 700 Lincoln High School students filled the Lincoln Performing Arts Center for an inspiring STEM Career Panel hosted by the EMU STEM Ed Institute in partnership with OneGoal and Lincoln High School earlier last month!

From engineering and cancer research to skilled trades and science communication, panelists shared real-world career journeys, powerful advice, and answered students’ biggest questions about pathways, scholarships, and combining passions in STEM. The message was clear: there’s more than one way to build a successful future. Showing up, staying curious, and planning ahead matters. 👷‍♂️💉🚀
