York Storyteens/York Storykids 'Our Community, Our Vision'
The purpose of the class is to teach kids, 5th grade and up, how to tell stories about their communities through photographs and videos using smart phones
2017 York Storykids schedule
Classes will be held on Thursdays, beginning Sept. 21, and runs for 8 weeks at Martin Library, in the Family Place room, which is in the children's library. Classes will be held in the evenings from 6 to 7:30. The theme this fall will be 'My Neighborhood Hero.'
Besides learning about video storytelling, the students will also create a photograph and write a paragraph

York Storykids' video story by Brennen Speal. At the coffee shop, 7th-grade math teacher Devin McMullen shows students about what it’s like to run a business — all while delivering a variety of beverages and pastries to teachers in the building.

Now that our fall session classes are over I would like to again thank our partners who helped make this video class happen, Walmart Martin Library Cultural Alliance of York County Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and of course my close friend Christina Kauffman at Word. By Christina Kauffman. Please remember to mark Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at 2 p.m. down in your calendars for the public viewing. It is free and in the Family Place Room at Martin Library. There will be food. Also, I am beginning to talk with both with children and adults who would like to take community video storytelling classes in 2018. As York Storyteens/York Storykids 'Our Community, Our Vision' finish our fall video class sessions I want to thank John Pavoncello for donating these two cameras to the group. These will really help get classes rolling in 2018. Be on the lookout for our video story public viewing event happening Feb. 11, at Martin Library. PLUS, I would love to hear from both parents of youngsters, and from adults, interested in learning to community video stories next year.
