Hello everyone! We had an awesome time this week learning all about flowers, the letter m, and talking about Mother’s Day! Your Little Blossoms had fun learning about the internal parts of a flower. We had fun dissecting some and looking at them under a magnifying glass! They also had tons of fun making dandelion crowns, painted paper plate flowers, and some special Mother’s Day keepsake hand/foot prints.

Hello everyone! This week your Little Blossoms had lots of fun learning about Mexico and Cinco De Mayo! We listened to Mexican music and played instruments, read books about Mexico and the people who live there, and had lots of fun making crafts this week. We made crafts like piñatas, maracas, and a Mexican flag. At the end of the week we had a real piñata for the children! It was a blast! 😁🇲🇽🎉🎊

Hello everyone! Bit of a late post, but I thought I’d show you what your Little Blossoms have been up to this past week!
Last week we were busy learning all about Earth Day and ways we can keep our planet healthy for all living things.
The children enjoyed multiple different crafts, including making a keepsake earth handprint, a tie dye coffee filter earth with watercolors, seed bombs, painting sea turtles with Pom poms, and several coloring pages focusing on earth, the letter E, and recycling.
We also did fun activities like learning to sort recyclables, some fun plant and animal themed sensory bins, and they even planted some real tomato and basil plants! We also did a science experiment showcasing why oil spills are so bad for bird’s feathers, and how zoologists clean them up.

Overall the children had a really fun week. 😁🌎🌱

Daycare will be closed December 26th - 30th for Christmas break. We will resume care on January 2nd, 2023.

Our Little Blossoms have been having fun this week! They’ve helped cut and bake gingerbread cookies, and have enjoyed painting nutcrackers!

We’ve also listened to traditional stories like the “Gingerbread Man” and “The Nutcracker”, watched parts of the Nutcracker ballet, and have enjoyed jingling sleigh bells and shakers while singing traditional Christmas Carols.

There are a lot more fun things coming throughout the week! 😁

Late post! Yesterday our Little Blossoms enjoyed digging seashells out of the sandbox and painting them. We also talked about water pollution and how it effects our oceans. To further explore this idea we did a couple of experiments to show them what happens when chemicals or oil spill into our water.

Our Little Blossoms had tons of fun learning about the ocean today with our themed centers!
We also explored how the density of water affects objects in an experiment using simple kitchen ingredients. The children loved guessing if the objects would float or sink. 😁

Here at Little Blossoms Childcare we believe in encouraging age appropriate art. While we will do some teacher guided “keepsake” crafts for the parents, usually we encourage the children to explore the artistic process by themselves. If the teacher always cuts and colors for them, all they learn is that the teacher does it better. Letting them explore art on their own is good for their development in so many ways! There’s no right answer in art and that’s part of the beauty of it!

Here is our octopus painting station from today! We provided them some pictures of real octopi and let them paint their own interpretations. 🐙😁

This week we’re learning all about the ocean! Our Little Blossoms enjoyed playing with this ocean themed sensory bin today, along with other sensory centers like play dough and slime.
