Welcome to our page! Established in 2024, Meredith Training Institute seeks to cultivate a community of skilled, culturally responsive mental health professionals through comprehensive education, innovative research, and dedicated advocacy. To accomplish this mission, we globally focus our training on promoting education, research, and advocacy. Through culturally responsive methodologies, research, and pedagogy, clinicians trained through MTI are empowered to dismantle systemic oppression in their everyday work as psychologists.
Education
We mentor interns and trainees through partnerships with licensed psychologists and community organizations, ensuring their training reflects real-world needs. MTI also hosts APA-approved Continuing Education programs, equipping professionals with skills in culturally responsive, non-Western approaches. Our curriculum emphasizes racial equity and anti-oppression frameworks to support both clinicians and the communities they serve.
Advocacy
We work to expose and address systemic oppression impacting marginalized groups—including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Transgender and Gender Expansive individuals, and others with oppressed identities. Through education and collaboration, we foster a culturally responsive environment that integrates non-Western cultural practices and methodologies taught by skilled practitioners.
Research
We advance scholarship through culturally responsive, innovative research methods. Our work highlights intersecting oppressions—race, gender, identity—and uplifts non-Western approaches such as community-based and collectivistic healing to promote equity and systemic change.
