A message from Alumni & Friends Engagement:

starts tomorrow!

I hope you are as excited about the festivities as I am. Your alumni office here at Clark takes great joy in witnessing alumni from the 5th to the 50th reunion classes (and everyone in between) reconnect, reminisce and celebrate. Please feel free to share this with anyone attending the Class of 2008 10th Reunion!

Here are a few pointers as you prepare and/or pack for Reunion 2018:

What to wear?
Thursday looks like good weather for the golf tournament and Friday in Worcester should see cloudy skies with a slight chance of rain. It’s forecast to rain during the day and evening on Saturday with showers on Sunday morning. Temperatures throughout the weekend are forecast to be in the 50s. If you are looking for some guidance about attire, here is a list:

1. Friday Night Cocktail Reception and Dinner: Cocktail, business or business casual attire
2. Saturday during the day (including luncheon): Casual, comfortable attire
3. Saturday evening dinner: Smart casual or business casual will work! Some alumni will opt to go dressy; jacket and tie, dresses and skirts.
4. Sunday: Casual, comfortable attire
5. Remember to pack an umbrella and rain jacket!

Where to park?
You may park in any Clark University parking lot during the weekend. No permit is required and Clark Police will NOT be checking for permits. You are guests of Clark University and are welcome to park in any lot. You may find these two parking lots to be your best alternatives.
1. If you are NOT staying on campus, the parking lot behind the Shaich Family Alumni and Student Engagement Center will be a great choice. The street address 939 Main Street. The Shaich Family Alumni and Student Engagement Center is the newest Clark University building and is located across Main Street from Clark University’s quad and next door to St. Peter Church. Grand Street is a one way road that runs between St. Peter’s and the Shaich Center. The parking lot is located behind the Shaich Center. Main Street to Grand Street or Gates Street and then into the parking lot. Right turn from Grand Street or a left turn from Gates Street.
2. If you ARE staying on campus, the University parking garage will work great as it is closer to the campus residence hall which you will be staying in. The parking garage is located on Florence Street and can be accessed via Downing Street.

Where to “check in?”
All Reunion 2018 alumni and guests can check in at the Academic Commons, first level of Goddard Library. There, you will receive additional information about the events and venues. For your friends who didn’t pre-register, walk-in registrations will be handled in the AC as well.

Get excited.
Prepare and pack well.
Travel safely.
See you soon!

So many wonderful events planned for Weekend! Two additional offerings you may not want to miss: The Royal Wedding will be shown in the Lurie Conference room at 7 am. You can grab a coffee and watch before breakfast!

Looking to take your morning run while on campus on Saturday morning? Nicole Imbracsio '98 will be leading a group on an easy 3-mile run around Clark and the surrounding community on Saturday, May 19 at 8 am. Meet in Red Square with your running shoes on! You'll be back in time for breakfast...

Hi everyone!

I hope to see everyone at Reunion next month.

I wanted to share some exciting news with you about a session taking place in conjunction with the 75th Anniversary of Co-Education at Clark.

Our very own Erin Burns-Maine will be a panelist on the symposium entitled: Celebrating 75 Years of Co-Ed Clark. She will join an amazing group of women and moderator, Amy Richter, for what is sure to be a fantastic session.

We all know Erin, but in case you're wondering what exciting work she's been doing, I've included her most recent bio below. What a Clarkie!

Erin Burns-Maine ‘08 is the Senior Advisor to the Executive Vice President of External Affairs at the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). NYCHA is the largest public housing authority in the country, providing affordable housing to 600,000 residents. In her role, Erin helps lead and direct the agency’s communications, policy, and government affairs operations. Prior to joining NYCHA, Erin was the national Director of State Policy for the Corporation for Supportive Housing, identifying and advancing policy priorities in 43 states. While at CSH, she also provided technical assistance on better alignment of public systems to serve the most vulnerable individuals, youth, and families in New York and New Jersey. Prior to CSH, Erin implemented housing and community development initiatives with the Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corporation. Erin got her start in housing policy with the Central Massachusetts Housing Alliance after receiving a BA in Sociology and MA in Community Development and Planning from Clark University.

***Please join me (Emily Zoback) in supporting Erin and the other fantastic women on the panel on Saturday, May 19th at 2pm, in the Sackler Sciences Building on Clark’s Campus in Room 120***
