Members of the NorthEast Feltmakers Guild did not disappoint as they presented art in adherence with this year’s August challenge. The challenge was to incorporate the method of ™️ into their wool art.

The results are amazing! And the secondary benefit of these challenges is when members are able to get together and work on these pieces together.

A huge thank you to Ellen Silberlicht for getting the challenge together, Elizabeth Stubbs for getting the word out in our newsletter and Debbie Penley ~ Fiber Artist for creating the form to accept the work and also creating the presentation of the work.

Calling all Northeast Feltmakers Guild Members! There is still time to submit a piece for our annual August Challenge. The challenge gives us a chance to connect and share with other members.

Members can submit photos on our web site (link in bio) and go to the august-challenge link.

We will share the gallery of work on Saturday, August 1st at 10:00 AM. The zoom link for the meeting can be found on the event page on our web site when you rsvp.

We can’t wait to see the creative outcome of work using the prompt of Incorporating the Zentangle™️ method into wool art.

The second workshop by Dawn Edwards for NEFG members was up in Barrington, VT. This is the second workshop Dawn has conducted for us. She led the felt makers in her Surface Design on Felted Vessels workshop. The vessels are incredible and the friendships created were even better.

Are you looking for a group where you can share, learn, and grow in your felting? The NEFG might be for you! You can check out more info on our web site link in our bio.

The results are in and they are gorgeous!! Check out the vessels that NEFG members created during the Surface Design on Felted Vessels workshop conducted by Dawn Edwards.

This is the first workshop in a series of three that Dawn will conduct in conjunction with NEFG. These workshops are/will be at the following locations:

- Lancaster, PA
- Peterborough, NH
- West Danville, VT

By being at various locations, members have the opportunity of attending one close to them.

These workshops are one of the many benefits of being a NEFG member. Looking for felting friends? NEFG might be your answer.

Check out this gorgeous felted purse created by NEFG member, Marsha “Sam” Biderman.

One of the many advantages of being a member of Northeast Feltmakers Guild is attending the many workshops provided (both zoom and in-person). The Tendral Purse class was taught by Pócs Judit and is still available to view on the nefguild.org web site.

Well done Sam!

It is time for NEFG members to begin creating work for the annual August Challenge. Our theme this year is to use the Zentangle(TM) method of drawing in your work.

Find other NEFG members in your area and invite them to felt together! Take pictures of your process and work to be included in the August presentation. Photos to be sent by August 2nd.

Have fun!!

NEFG members can go to www.nefguild.org to view the recorded session with Zentangle instructor for more information on this drawing method.

NEFG member, Kim Goodling from shared her vast array of wool knowledge with students this past weekend. In the workshop, Fiber to Felt, Kim demonstrated the entire process of shearing, skirting, washing, picking, carding, and finally felting the sheep wool. The range of students prior knowledge was from felting to farming or new to it all! We all were amazed by the process and everyone left with an adorable and useful tote bag. Hard to believe the wool in the bag was on a sheep’s body just a few days ago.

Sanborn Mills is a magical place. We could not have asked for a more beautiful setting. And the food? It is all farm to table and absolutely delicious.
