NEFG member, Kim Goodling from shared her vast array of wool knowledge with students this past weekend. In the workshop, Fiber to Felt, Kim demonstrated the entire process of shearing, skirting, washing, picking, carding, and finally felting the sheep wool. The range of students prior knowledge was from felting to farming or new to it all! We all were amazed by the process and everyone left with an adorable and useful tote bag. Hard to believe the wool in the bag was on a sheep’s body just a few days ago.
Sanborn Mills is a magical place. We could not have asked for a more beautiful setting. And the food? It is all farm to table and absolutely delicious.

Thank you to everyone for participating in NEFG’s ! We had such an overwhelming international response and are so thankful for this wooly community. Whether you posted your work, provided thoughtful comments, or just followed along…we were happy to have you on the felting February journey.
Posts were viewed hundreds, something’s thousands, of times from all over the world. At a time when life seems overwhelming and crazy, we are fortunate to have this supportive community of people loving what we do and finding peace among those that do it too.
Many thanks from Cindy Kennelly for NEFG.
