I used to be cool. I had opinions about things other than hockey. I went places that were not rinks. I spoke in full sentences that did not include the words ""offsides"" or ""forecheck.""

But that feels like ages ago. 🤣

Now I know the difference between icing and a delayed penalty. I have a favorite ref and least favorite ref. I packed a cooler for a 6am game without being asked because this is just my life now.

I would not trade a single freezing cold morning in those stands for anything.

We are all out here slowly becoming people we never expected to be. 🏒

5 hills I will absolutely die on as an email marketing specialist.

I have been doing this for six years. I have seen what works and what does not. And at this point I have some opinions that I am not backing down from.

Summer is almost over. And I have a question for you.

How much of it have you actually been present for?

Not physically in the same room while your brain is somewhere else running through your to-do list. Actually there - eyes up, phone down, watching your kids, and enjoying time with the people around you.

We are in the last stretch now. School starts back up in a few weeks for most families. The lazy mornings and the long afternoons and the nights that go too late because nobody really has to be anywhere, there really are not many of these left.

The work will still be there in August. The emails will still need to be sent. The inbox will still be full of things that felt urgent until you looked back and realized none of them were.

But this summer, this exact version of your kids, the age they are right now and the things they think are funny and the way they still want you around, this won't last forever.

You are living in the good old days right now. I hope you are not missing them because you were too busy being available to everything except what is right in front of you.

Go make those memories.

We had our first Email Edge call last week and I have been sitting with how good it felt ever since.

I have been building this mastermind for months. Thinking about what it should look like, what members actually need, how to make it genuinely useful rather than just another thing people sign up for and never show up to.

And then last week it became a reality.

People were excited to come (and actually showed up!). They came with questions about actual emails they had been stuck on. We talked through subject lines and open rates and what it really takes to get someone to click on something in their inbox. And it wasn't some polished put together presentation with plans and checklists to get through. We just had some honest and real conversations about email lists and trends.

By the end of the call, people left with things they could actually apply that same day. And that was the whole point of the mastermind when I built it.

I am so grateful to the founding members who trusted this before they could see exactly what it would be. You showed up and made it everything I hoped it would be.
