There is no comparison.

I see YOU...

And if you've made just one of these shifts- you are incredible!✨

It is almost impossible for us to give others what we never had

But you did it and that's HUGE!🤩

If things are hard sometimes, it doesn't mean you're failing.

It means you're human.

Good News!

Kids need human parents🥳

Unafraid of teaching them how to be happy, real, connected, functioning grown-up humans!

Which means making mistakes in front of them

And making it right as they take notes.

It means losing it because sometimes the noise is too much

And teaching them that they are not the cause of someone else's emotional dysregulation...

And what a good apology looks like.

You are doing a great job.

Don't be afraid to be messy

Grow from your mistakes

Learn from your kids.

You are someone worth looking up to ...

And they (and I) love you for it🌈

This is how we change the world.

As a parent who grew up with trauma

It was my top priority to protect my kids from it

What I learned after over a decade of trying is...

You can't.

Scary, painful, terrible things happen in life😱

The goal isn't avoiding them completely;

Living out our days as DoorDash-dependent hermits

It's about learning to get support when the tough stuff goes down.

It's about learning to listen with patience and compassion

No judgment, no trying to solve or fix things

Pure focus on understanding and support👂

I'll be honest, sometimes it hurts more to be the one to listen

But being allowed to process with a compassionate person can be the difference between healing and lasting damage.

Never be afraid to get the support you need

And know that supporting your kids or others is a priceless gift.

We are the example, the teacher, the mentor, the guide.

One day, they will live a life separate from us.

If we see mistakes as necessary steps to learning, and meet them with compassion and support, this is where it's likely to lead.

Let them mess up, be human, let go of perfectionism, and embrace messy, hands-on learning.

They may not always need you, but they will always want you in their corner.
