Obituary of Ricky Arnold Bailey
Funeral services for Ricky Arnold Bailey, age 65, of Woodland will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Flat Rock Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Keel and Rev. Keith Benefield officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, February 19, 2022.

Mr. Bailey passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia.

Survivors include his mother, Irene Bailey of Woodland; one brother, Greg Bailey of Woodland; and a special niece, Adrianna Bailey.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Bailey’s friends.

A lifelong Woodland resident, Mr. Bailey was born in Franklin, Georgia, on July 27, 1956, the son of Arnold and Irene Herren Bailey. He was a member of Flat Rock Congregational Methodist Church where he served as a Deacon and worked as a manager for Hall’s Gas in Franklin, Georgia. Mr. Bailey was also a cattle farmer and an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan. He was preceded in death by his father.

Update on Shelia Harrington Geter: Shelia is in a regular room and has had all the tubes and wires removed. She's doing well and hoping to go home on Tuesday.

Our classmate, Shelia Harrington Geter is in surgery now to repair a blockage and replace a valve in her heart. Please lift her up in prayer.

Once again we are the bearers of sad news. Mrs. Nelda Bishop, mother of David Bishop and our beloved Home Economics teacher, passed away this morning. She was the epitome of a Southern lady and touched more lives than she knew. I still think of her every time I make certain recipes that we learned from her. RIP Mrs. Bishop. You were loved.
