☀️ So what does a day at Growing Montessori actually look like? We believe young children thrive when their days have both rhythm and room to breathe.

There are familiar parts of the day children can count on, while still leaving space for curiosity, long stretches of exploration, changing weather, unexpected discoveries, and whatever happens to capture their interest that day.
Our daily rhythm gives children the security of knowing what comes next without turning childhood into a schedule of rushing from one activity to another.

When we say nature-based, we don't just mean we spend more time outside. At Growing Montessori, the natural world is part of the classroom.

Emalee dreamed of a school where children would have the freedom to explore the world around them and to notice the tiny things, ask questions, move their bodies, test their abilities, get dirty, care for living things, and develop a real relationship with the place they live.
A stick can become a building material. A bug can start an investigation. Changing weather can become a lesson. And sometimes a really good puddle is exactly what the day calls for 🌧️
Children have a place in this big world. We want them to have the time, space, and confidence to discover it.

🌱 What does “Montessori” actually look like for a preschooler? It looks a lot like this 🥹

A child choosing something that interests them. Working with their hands. Trying, figuring it out, making mistakes, trying again. And having the space to do it themselves.
In a Montessori environment, children aren’t all expected to learn the same thing in the same way at the same moment. Our guides prepare the environment, introduce meaningful materials, observe, support, and know when to step in and when to let a child discover what they’re capable of.
Because sometimes the biggest learning happens when we give children enough time and trust to get there themselves.💚

We may be new, but we are READY 🌿💚

Growing Montessori has been a long time in the making, and seeing the space, the materials, and all the little pieces finally come together is pretty incredible.

This may be our first school year, but it’s backed by experienced educators, years of preparation, local roots, and a whole lot of intention about what we want childhood to look like here.

The doors are almost open. The adventures are about to begin. And we cannot wait to welcome our first Growing Montessori families🥹🌱

You may have seen our flyers popping up around Woodland! Behind this brand-new school is Emalee, owner, director, and Montessori educator, who has spent years dreaming about creating a place like this!
