Tech week: where everything comes together… eventually. 😂

Lights. Sound. Props. Costumes. Cues. And approximately 900 reminders to stay focused.

It's all part of getting the show ready.

Theater people, finish this sentence: It's not tech week until ______. 👇

The audience sees the show. They don't see THIS. 👀

The mistakes. The do-overs. The problem-solving. The teamwork. And figuring out stage left…again.

Turns out, the biggest lessons happen before the curtain opens.

Former theater kids, what did rehearsal teach you? 👇

Not everyone wants the spotlight. Some people see a headset, glue gun, sewing machine or half-built set and think, “Now THIS I can work with.”

Build. Paint. Sew. Organize. Troubleshoot. Run tech. Keep backstage chaos from becoming actual chaos.

That’s theater, too.

MAC Theater offers backstage volunteer and paid production opportunities throughout the season, depending on the production.

We know what theater kids have in common!

And no, it’s not just being a little dramatic. 😂

Confidence. Communication. Collaboration. Problem-solving.

They may think they’re just putting on a show.

Funny how much they’re learning along the way.

📌 Save this for the next time someone asks why theater matters.

Some people love the spotlight.

Others are happiest making sure the spotlight works.

Backstage volunteers and production professionals help transform an idea into a real experience. They solve problems, notice details, work as a team and keep the story moving when the audience never sees the work happening.

If acting is not your thing, theater may still have a place for your skills.

They’ve put in the work. Now they need an audience. 🎭

Show up.

You've spent years driving your kid to rehearsals.

Sitting in the parking lot.

Hearing the songs.

Watching the shows.

Knowing WAY more theater terminology than you ever intended.

And then one day you think…

Wait. Could I do this too? 👀

Actually…maybe.

MAC Theater offers adult and multigenerational opportunities that can make theater something you don't just watch your kids do.

Want to take your little one to the theater…but 2 hours sounds like a terrible life choice? 😂

Start smaller. 🎭

We have two productions in October to live theater for a pint-sized audience with a kid-friendly performance that's a great introduction to seeing a show.

Coming to MAC this October: The Boy Who Cried Wolf & Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells!
