The Greater NOVA Alumni Chapter of Norfolk State University has hosted, since 2016, a single-day campus tour. We rise early, charter a bus, feed local high schoolers’ spirits, and return them home equipped with the tools necessary to make an informed decision about our beloved university. We’re now reaching several hundred students, and many have gone on to enroll and graduate. I’ve had the privilege of serving as chair since 2016 and have witnessed the work of the incredible team who bring this experience together.

I have a request: if you’ve read this far and believe in the power of education at the collegiate level—maybe you attended an HBCU, maybe you know someone—if you could click the link and sponsor a student for $40. All donations received will cover the cost of a student in financial need, with any excess going to fund scholarships for the university.

Had I been elected my Vote on this issue would have been NO it’s beyond me how anyone can make any contract altering decisions without input from the people most impacted. The teachers themselves.
